Bought RPG maker XP months but it never shows on the forums here I am sorry I am late but I am a complete noob at forum stuff I just now found out there is a spot in client area that is supposed to show when you bought something right? I hope this is the right section and I hope there isn't any anger over me being slow to check this I have emails as proof that I bought RPG maker XP awhile ago. I am at a lost as to what to do and I am worried people will get mad the email I purchased with is gateargon@gmail.com and although I reinstalled my os a few times this is the same PC.

It only shows up in the client area if you purchased it through the forum store - in all other cases (Steam, Main Store,...) that area will remain empty, and that is not a problem. Just let it remain empty

Are you sure you bought it on the forums store instead of the main store or steam? The client area as Andar said is only for items bought in the forum store.

Not all RMW members purchase the RPG Makers or resource packs from the forum store.

If what you are worried about is whether people will question about whether you own a license for your copy of RMXP, you will be fine as long you have purchased your license from RMW Main Store, Steam, or any other legal sites.

Like what Andar and Engr. Adiktuzmiko stated, only purchases made in RMW forum store will appear in your forum account's client area.

Well I do worry because this place is very serious on legit purchases of their  products I wanted to make sure people won't be mad I bought it from the main store the url isn't the same as the forums it is rpgmakerweb.com not forums.rpgmakerweb.com I do have 1 other question though if that is ok. I know it is not allowed to distribute the license key but if i were to get a new pc and install rpg maker xp with the license that I have there is that legal?

If it's a legal copy from any stores on rpgmakerweb.com, whether it's the Forum store or the Main store, OR from Steam or Amazon, nobody will care.    They DO come down hard on illegal users.  But there are plenty of fully legal ways to buy them and I'm sure Enterbrain has no problem with anyone buying from ANY of those sites.

If they did, the legal copies wouldn't end up on those stores.

The only difference is the Client Area under your username won't show the purchase.  And if you ever purchase a Member+ membership, you ONLY get the Member+ discount from the Forum store.   That would be under the "Store" tab up above.  And those purchases DO end up under your Client Area.

I would assume, legally, if you have uninstalled the software from one PC, then installed it on another PC, it's still fully legal.  Or, if the old PC dies, you can re-install the license key onto a new PC.

In my case, I use Steam and since Steam only lets you run on one PC at a time, I can legally use the same copy on my home and work PCs, since I am the only user of the PC.

whitesphere is right. If you have one license (i.e. for RMXP), you can install RMXP on a new computer, provided that you uninstall it from your old computer.

I'm not a staff, so don't take my word for it. I've provided a couple of links for you to check out.

Here's a link to a thread that addresses the same issue :

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/24382-two-computers/

Also a link directly to a post that mentions this as well (just focus on the first paragraph in that post) :

http://forums.rpgmakerweb.com/index.php?/topic/33755-key-expired/#entry331043

Hope this helps! ^^

just to be safe, make sure you still have the email sent by the main store... Purchases there send receipt emails to the email you used when buying.
