Wanderlust: A strong longing for, or an impulse towards wandering.

Boundless and Wanderlust is an RPG that strongly relies on the written word, graphics, and puzzles to help captivate the player without becoming a visual novel. This is a game where you follow and play alongside a young woman reaching the height of her teenage years. Sage was always in the clouds; often living in the realms of her dreams and imagination. But what happens when those dreams that she had in her mind of how things should be, become a reality? She had always felt an inclination towards another world, a sort of magical place that she thought of when she was morose or even happy. Her family never pried her away from these thoughts. What are they hiding?

Immerse yourself into the creative world of BaW, and play as Sage, a woman thrust into the world of Glimmer, the place she always thought she should live in and help her solve the puzzles to help save Glimmer from the darkness enclosing it.

Hi everyone, I am Ruby (Or Blueruby, or Caitlyn). I just want to tell you a little bit about myself, and more specifically, why I want to create this game.

I am twenty years old and I make pizzas for a modest living. And I love it. I love the idea of sitting next to the water with a popsicle in one hand and a journal in the other, sloppily writing down my thoughts and dripping melted ice onto the page.

I want to make your heart race, your pulse quicken, and I want your mind to think. I see so many games that are all about action, while they lack in engaging conversations. I feel as if I can give you an amazing adventure as well as keep you engrossed and fascinated and in thought, while giving you free roam with physical commands as a game would. I am so captivated by the written word. I am so able to write what is on my mind, in any form I choose with the movement of a pen or the rhythm of the typing keys.

While doing this, I want to bring in features that you wont see in many other games; such as different species and races of characters, tuning in to words without making this a visual novel. I truly believe my story can do that.



- The player character. She is a highly passionate girl who puts her all into everything she does.
- Briarmoss is a unicorn. He has telepathic powers compatible with the human brain and is able to help Sage by not only communicating with her, but also helping her navigate her way through the Glimmer forests, and find helpful friends along the way.

This game has some heavy influences from the book Into the Land of the Unicorns, however, it is it's own story un-related to the book.

Nope! ^ I drew the unicorn, but a friend of mine on DA drew Sage (who is an old version of Sequoia on Serenity Oceans)

Very nice stuff you have here Ruby, there are a lot of very promising games in this contest and it's so inspiring.

I love that you also added a brief description of yourself in the thread, it's cool (nobody did the same thing) and I completely agree with that anonymous quote about character development.

Good luck with your game, I'll be keeping my evil eye on this.

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
