I'm wondering if there is an existing plugin that gives a "breathing" effect to actors and events on normal maps. Something like the breathing effect found in Yanfly's Animated Sideview Enemies plugin, but would apply to actors and/or events when not in battle mode.

When I look at Yanfly's plugin, it seems that what she's doing is this: The static sprite is being "stretched" in three directions at once: left, right, and up. And then it "un-stretches" back into its original form, and repeat. This gives a very smooth breathing effect.

@Uzuki Thanks so much, this is working very well.

The breathing effect doesn't seem to have a way to adjust its speed through commands, and the default breathing effects looked a little fast to me, like my character had just sprinted and was out of breath, so I've been playing around with the script and changed lines 654 & 655 from

if (this._character._actionZoomData.zoom > 0.20) {
this._character._actionZoomData.zoom = 0.20;

to

if (this._character._actionZoomData.zoom > 0.90) {
this._character._actionZoomData.zoom = 0.01;

and that did in fact slow the breathing affect down to my liking. The thing is, I have no idea what I'm doing (javascript-wise), I just looked for something that seemed like it might have something to do with breathing speed, and then started plugging in different numbers, and, well, it seems to work.

So I was just wondering, if anyone happens to see a potential problem with what I did, please give me a heads up. Like I said, don't really know what I'm doing, just kind of feeling around in the dark here.

Thanks!

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
