Brittheim is a short game, about 40 minutes to an hour. It utilizes mostly default assets but every map ( and most characters!) was originally designed with custom lighting.

STORY:

Brittheim tells the story of a group of soldiers suddenly embroiled in a hopeless conflict. Throughout the course of the game, as you face humans and monsters alike, the differences between the two begin to blur. It culminates in an emotional (I hope) climax that changes the trio of defiant warriors forever. I don't want to go into too much detail, as it could ruin the journey!

FEATURES:

-Simple yet engaging combat, focused on making the player consider their options before attacking.

-An engaging story, delivering it's point boldly and swiftly without any plot blubber.

-A brief yet effective introduction, getting the player right into the game without any tutorials or hand-holding one minute in.

-Skills based on TP only, making each use count.

-No typos at all. (Believe me, I've checked... and checked... and checked.)

-Well-written dialogue.

-Two Bosses :J

Okay, I'll leave here my first impressions and I'll be back with the game after classes are done:

I really liked the concept and atmosphere of the game as it first started! I know this has been played out alot (the being "sieged/attacked" intros) but so many games have proved that reviving or re-using concepts can easily be covered with proper execution that can make it actually really cool! so goodjob on bringing that about! :)

The battles I thought were a bit quite hard at it's early phases, but thankfully it is easily balanced out for the main character's low mana cost heal ability! xDD

So far, I'm liking the look of the game and I'm looking forward to continuing it once my classes are done! xDD

EDIT:

Okay, so I've fought throughout the invaded city and through the outskirts and then reached the castle! I must say the story progressed quite well! though sometimes, I feel like things become so sudden, but that's not much of an issue since this was meant to be a short RPG game! The battles were smooth pacing and quite enjoyable, though at first I thought I was gonne be left alone with the Attack > Heal > Attack strat forever. xDD

Oh, by the way, there was a bug at the castle where we meet the king, when I go outside to meet the captain and then go back to the castle, the scene with the king repeats itself! xD

I also really liked the quirky dialogues with Riven and Catie! :D

Now for the end of the game, I must say you did quite a good job at capturing the players with a very emotional scene and music, but one thing I wish to address to you. (though it's not that big of a deal, justthought it might just help)

I understand that this is a short game to emphasize a short message when it comes to war and how each side perceives things, but a very emotional scene like that one feels like it needs to have a good foundation for the players to get really attached (like more time knowing the characters more and how well they are bonded).. but then again, it's a short game, so it's fine! just thought I'd share! xDD

I really love how you gave the player a choice in the ending, that was quite a good touch!!

Overall, it was a nice short game and I feel like it's style and theme would do decently as a fully-fledged RPG game! xD

Thanks for the feedback! I get what you mean, and I'll definitely try and fix that bug. I don't think I'll make this game itself longer or develop the character's bonds more, but it'll be in mind for my next project.

Edit: Bug was fixed and download was updated :p

How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
