I've had RPG Maker for a few years now and I thought it was just a bug that would be patched out but I can see it's not gonna go away alone. Whenever I use the interface for almost anything the screen just randomly breaks. I'm tired of seeing this and would really appreciate some help on how to fix this. The engine doesn't crash and the play testing is perfectly fine except for whatever this is. Capture d’écran (1266).png

I've never seen that. Did you buy RPG Maker from steam? What graphics card do you use to run RPG Maker?
And to double check, this is not happening in test play (for example caused by some plugin you've added)? This happens when you click Database inside the engine itself?

in several cases this was confirmed as the result of a slightly wrong display driver, although in other cases installing the correct driver didn't help.

Main problem is that once Windows has the wrong driver, it will always prefer the wrong driver - that makes the automatic update useless.
To get the correct driver installed you need to look for your display card manufacturer, go to that website and download the driver setup there, then install that one without using the update function.

Similar problems can also happen if your computer has two different display chips (one for 2D, one for 3D) and the wrong one is priorized for the RPG Maker. That is a driver setting in windows dependend of the program and which windows version you have.

I bought it on Steam. My graphic card is an Intel(R) Iris(R) Plus Graphics. Also the current project is empty and has no plugins. This happens when I move my mouse or click on things. It only happens with RPG Maker MV though. I don't know why. It doesn't do that in RPG Maker MZ.

I have no idea what you are talking about. I would appreciate to know how to change the driver? Sorry, I'm very lost. But I use Windows 11.

There have been a number of threads about this - it only happens to users on Windows 11.

A cause has not been established. People have updated their graphics drivers and it doesn't change. I don't remember if I bothered to try setting it to run in a compatibility mode.

Ultimately, no one has been bothered by it enough to put significant effort into solving it. You can contact actual customer support, but I don't know if you'll get anything since MV is officially deprecated. (although they'll update it to add ad popups...)

Out of all the posts I have seen of that UI error, this is one of the most exploded I have seen yet. My goodness MV is clearly getting on in the years when he comes home that drunk.

Actually, the last time I saw someone report a similar issue, updating their graphics drivers fixed it. I reckon it's at least worth a shot.

I was having some strange graphical issues with Rpg Maker MZ myself. Turns out I had a corrupted Nvidia display driver.

Running their clean uninstall tool, then grabbing the latest driver and performing a clean installation in the custom install section fixed the issue for me (among other graphics related issues).

I have this same problem, so you aren't alone. However, as it doesn't impact my development in any way, I just ignore it. I suppose I could update my graphics drivers and see if it helps.

I think that there are several different problems with similar results.
some of them were confirmed as solved by driver updates, although all those cases were Win 10 or older.
But it looks as if Win11 works differently or has a different cause instead, because several people with Win11 reported that the driver update didn't work for them.

You have no idea how much time I spent last night trying to get a Santa hat to fit on my avatar's head. Failure. Head's too small.
I realized recently since my game is still a turn based game, that something like the card game Yomi is a lot closer to what I should try to aim for combat wise. Should also help for those who don't really play fighting games to make things a bit easier to understand. ugh the struggles of trying to show love for my 2 favorite genres in 1 go lol.
Did a bit of work on the chemistry tiles I want.

Hey There!

My next plugin will be: "Dynamic Temperature Stats"

Now you might be wondering... What does it do?

Well, it's a fascinating plugin that adds a body temperature mechanic to characters.

Holy crap, it's cold. Our heat went out this morning and the repair guy won't get the part needed to fix it at least until tomorrow. Had to be now of all times, when we have stuff to do all week and it's the coldest night of November so far.
