I seem to be having a bit of a problem here.

I went and copy-pasted some of the ArrowSpecial animations into another animation set, with the hue set to a purple color. It had ArrowSpecial as well, with the hue set to a fiery red.

Now, all ArrowSpecial animation graphics end up being purple. I can't put down the red ones I wanted to. If I try to add a new animation sprite from the images I had already selected, they all come out purple automatically.

I've already tried restarting RPG Maker MV. It didn't do anything. Save, load, quit, restart, none of it helps.

Kinda stumped here. I hope I didn't just stumble on a rather glaring bug.

If I understand what you're saying, you are using two animations that have the same image, and on one of them you've changed the hue, but when you play both animations, they both use the new hue?

I tested this and am not seeing the same thing. I copied an animation into a new slot, adjusted the hue on the image, then played them both at the same time on two different events. Each one shows correctly for me.

So ... are you using any plugins? If so, disable them all and see if the problem still happens. See if the problem happens on a brand new project with no plugins and no changes other than duplicating an animation & adjusting its hue.

@Shaz

What I mean is:

We have Animation A, with a hued image.

I make Animation B, which has a seperate hued image. I pasted over sprites from Animation A into Animation B, and now, all future sprites made, whether it be for Animation A, B or any new one, for that matter, and they all end up with the same numerical hue setting as Animation A.

I've tried a new one with no plugins. Same effect. Honestly, I wouldn't know a plugin that directly affects the rendering of animation graphics in-editor.

Should I pack up what I have of my project and let people look at it?

I am not getting what the problem is. If you don't want the same hue on the second image, change it.

You are not copying the image - you are copying the animation, which includes the image and the hue setting.

Maybe some screenshots showing what's happening and what you're expecting to happen might help. Or a step-by-step of every click you make, so I can reproduce the issue (ie - don't say "an image" / "a separate image" - say the image names; don't say "copied a few sprites" - list the steps - because "sprites" could mean one of three different things, at least, when you're editing an animation). Or, if you have the time and the tools, maybe make a video showing the exact steps you're following.

Thing is, I CAN'T change it. A new animation sprite keeps the hue from Animation A, regardless of what my image hue setting is on the current animation.

Alright, i'll get some pictures up soon.

EDIT: Okay, that is very strange. I was able to fix the problem by clearing the database entry and starting over.

It seems fixed for the time being, but i'm definitely going to fully document it if I see something similar happen again, that's for certain.

Just realized I necro'd .. sorry .. But still I'm having the exact same issue. I can't change hue's on any of my animations. It just doesn't work.

I know this is reeeeally necro'd now, but I have had the same issue for a long time. Even when I updated RPG Maker and it went away for a while, it eventually came back. For me it doesn't affect every animation file, just some of them. It must be a plugin glitch.

I thought I found a solution by opening the files in photoshop and saving them as they were (no changes, just adjusted their name) but that would only fix it in RMMV's animation editor, not in the actual game. :/

Anyway, if anyone has ever found a solution that doesn't involve just manually changing colors it'd be appreciated. Until then, I'll just do it manually. :S

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
