This is a bug report for the RPG Maker MV editor.
Basically, when cancelling the "Set Movement Route" command, it seems to keep changes to the movement route, rather than cancelling changes.
Here are the detailed steps of what I did:
I was editing an event, and used the "Set Movement Route" command. After I set it up, I closed the event window. Later, I decided to change the event, so I opened up the same "Set Movement Route" command and changed it; but, while changing it, I deciding that I liked it how it was, after all, so I hit Cancel. In the event page window, it showed up as having the desired movement route I'd originally set. So, I closed the event. However, when I playtested, I found that the event took the route that I'd cancelled. I exiting playtesting and returned to the editor, opening up to the event page. I found that it read the desired movement route, so i was puzzled as to why it had done the alternate route that I'd cancelled. However, I clicked to edit the Set Movement Route command, and it populated with the incorrect movement route that I'd cancelled. This time, I deleted the route and set the originally desired movement route, and then clicked OK or Apply. Now, the event moved as desired.
