While I was play testing a map today I noticed that my actors weren't walking through bush tiles anymore. The actors can still walk on top of them It just doesn't show the transparent bush tile above the actors sprite anymore. When I noticed this the first thing I did was check the tileset database to make sure they were still registered as bushes (with the squiggly Equal signs), and they were, Than I thought that maybe it was just that particular map that I was having issues on so I moved to another map to test that and I had the same issue, my characters wouldn't walk through the bush tiles or the Tree tiles on the overworld. I'm not sure what I did but I think I broke something.

This issue was fixed. It turns out I accidentally named the character Sprite page as "!Main Actors" so I renamed it "Main Actors" without the "!" and that fixed my issue. I was able to walk though the Bush tiles just fine.

Check your tileset Bush settings, maybe. Make sure it's set to the little wiggly equals, and not the dot.

You're contradicting yourself.  First you say you can't walk on them, and then you say you can.  What's the difference between "I can still walk on top of them" and "I just don't pass through them"?  Walking on top of them IS passing through them.

If you can't walk on them at all, you've probably changed the passage setting from O to X.  If you can walk on them but just don't show up as partly transparent on the bottom, that's the 'bush' flag.

If that doesn't help you out, you'll have to show a screenshot of your Tileset tab, with the tile visible, and a screenshot of you standing on the tile while playing the game, so we can understand what the problem actually is.

I did that and they were still the squiggly Equal signs.

@Shaz

I apologize for the confusion, I have trouble explaining certain things. I can walk on top of the tile just fine, but before I used to walk though the tile and the lower half of my sprite was covered by a the semi transparent
Here are some Screen shots.

Do you have any plugins?  If so, can you try disabling ALL of them, save the project, then test again to see if it makes a difference?

Apart from plugins, have you made any other changes to the core scripts?

Does your grass tile have any terrain tags?  If you go to the Region layer, have you painted with a region id over that area?

Also confirm that that IS the tileset that's being used for those maps - if you'd perhaps copied it to one of those unnamed slots and then changed the bush flag, and the maps are using that tileset instead, it could be confusing (I know, a long shot, but it wouldn't be the first time it's happened).

I disabled ALL plugins, saved the file and tried it again, but still no transparency. Also I have never used region layers or terrain tags but I checked anyways just in case and saw nothing.

Can you try and create a brand new project, use those tiles on a map, and see if it happens there too?

Are you able to zip up your project and load it up to dropbox so I can take a look at it?

I edited the original post and linked a video showing off the issue I'm having.

@Gabu: your video is useless for this purpose - you already confirmed that the problem is inside your project, because it works in a new project you made.

Now the next step is to find out where in the project the error is caused, and for that help you either need to check it yourself or to give us the project for us to check.

A video showing the error cannot help here any longer.

Oh, I'm sorry.
I actually sent Shaz a PM regarding this issue and we resolved it, It turns out I accidentally named my Characters Sprite page as "!Main Actors" and that's what was causing the issue. When I renamed it to Main actors without the "!" It worked just fine.
I forgot to make an edit to this post saying it was resolved.

um, what?  That's news to me.  I don't have a PM from you.  Seems you forgot to send that too ;)   Or someone else helped you out.

I had already started looking at this this morning, and I noticed the core scripts are still from the original MV, but I think some of your additional scripts are made for later versions of the engine.  Even though you've sorted the issue out, I suggest you do get the most up-to-date MV, and copy the JS files from the newdata folder (or the js folder if you create a new project after grabbing the latest version) and paste it over the js folder in your project.  Also go through each of your plugins and grab the latest and greatest.  Just to make sure the plugins you have are for the same version of the engine that you're using.  An easier way might be to get the latest MV, start a new project, and copy in all the audio, data, fonts, icon, img and movies folders, and then re-add all your plugins.

That's so strange, I guess I must have forgot to hit the submit reply button. In the message I basically explained how I felt bad for having you download that file I sent ya, and that I figured out why my characters weren't walking thought the bush tiles correctly and what I did to fix it.
Thanks for the assistance though I appreciate it.

no worries.  It's nice that you figured it out yourself.  You learn more when that happens :)
