This is an early concept to the current game I've been developing.

Synopsis
Lalo and Cado go treasure hunting after dark, but when they go into the ruins left over from eons ago, they find technology beyond their wildest imaginations. The soldiers within are out for blood, but for what purpose?

Characters
Cado is a town bum and also a treasure hunter. He has recently found the ruins a few days ago, and the priestess warned him not to go back. Now he must find a way to find assistant to find out what is contained inside.

Lalo is a town regular, except her parents have not been around for many moons. Ordinarily she would stay in town, but has recently found it boring. The draw of the Starlight OS is only a temporary satisfaction.

Gameplay

I'm going with a more traditional graphical layout this time, and focusing on different gameplay elements with a traditional rpg framework. You play as the assistant of a treasure hunter, who must use the Starlight OS to mine for currency. The takes the form of the starlight parallax, where I use my own icons to fake the effect of a workable computer within the narrative.

Battles and experience are handled differently, you beat a monster and you get a variable that determines how many of these enemies you have beaten within the traditional battle system framework. Also I have otherwise completely dropped rewards for battles, with a focus on evading battles. There are no bosses yet, I'm trying to decide the current boss layout and what kind of themes I want the game to have.

Leveling

Instead of traditional level up, you level up through a guy called a 'Level Up Jason'. There is a running joke, if you think you discovered a ruins, he probably discovered it first. His purpose is to ration out levels so that you don't over level, and therefore keeping the game balanced within not being to easy or to hard.

A current version of the town, currently only one town.

Slightly older version of Starlight OS (possibly temporary OS title)

I'm trying to decide whether the current demo is big enough to distribute yet. I have the first town finished, as well as the world map and the dungeon layout.

As soon as I get better screenshots I'll post them.^^

Edit: Note that release will be a while. Got back into a writing kick again. I'll try to make time for making a working demo that's a little more than what I have write now. (One town, world map, and dungeon.)

How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
So I was playing with filters and this looked interesting...

Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
