Oh me goshhh...best topic E.V.E.R...\ / I love italian food, and chinese, and tailandese, and french and brazilian, and portuguese, and japanese... and indian...and mexican...

I dream of one day try food from all over the world!

I never imagined quinoa in a lasagna, but I guess it can work divinely. I would just make the pasta or noddles or how you call the layer that sustains the sauce, would make it with the quinoa and add some flour mix.(and boil it outside) so it would have the consistence necessary to maintain the other layers(cheese, tomato sauce...whatever...)But this is all theories because further testing is needed to discover a way to make the kinoa hold and with what.

Maybe it was the brand, but I don't care for quinoa.  Too papery in taste and texture.  Gimme lots of gluten and carbohydrates and all that good stuff.

Well guys, it sure has been awhile. I hope everyone's still eating delicious food! :kaothx:

@Goldstorm and I made some fridge pickles and peppers because our grocery store stopped carrying our favorite sandwich toppings. Pimientos, cucumbers, red onion, garlic, peppercorns, and of course salt and vinegar. Here's hoping we don't end up eating rotten vegetables. There is totally a produce sticker somewhere in this jar, too.

Ox tail! What a real meat treat!

I've had this once, blood sausage. I'll tell you though, it's not exactly just something anyone can eat; like many exotic to American tastes, it is quite an acquired taste. But it is quite good.

I love curry; my favorite was this shrimp and crab with pineapple, and it was soooo good. Unfortunately, the restaurant that made this closed down four years ago, and apparently, never relocated. Sad, because they were the kindest of people, even to me.

I love pasta dishes, but I love pesto sauces more than tomato sauces (except with cheese filled ravioli).

Pizza, homemade, seven cheese, oh my dear sweet Mother of Mercy...

I love meatloaf, but don't have it often because I live alone (and that is REALLY HARD to make for ONE PERSON).

What's my favorite vegetable?

Carrots; they are a part of my daily meal intake. I love them, however, I never could eat a whole, RAW carrot.

I also love peas; one of my favorite kinds are yellow peas, which are very hard to come by. The yellow peas are sweeter than their green counterparts, and less pasty when made into soups.

I don't care much for escárgot, but I do like snails from the shell. I also like lemon and thyme marinated mealworms. Of course, like the snails or clams on the half shell, you swallow them whole.

@Gin Oh, my God! Yes! My boyfriend's dad just got back from a trip to Japan and brought us a ton of matcha-flavored Kit Kats. They were amazing. I could not stop eating them. :kaoeh:

So, my birthday passed. That means I got a steak. I don't eat a lot of red meat so I often have a steak for my birthday. Other times I make pancakes. This was a tenderloin. Way too expensive, but so good. We made a pan sauce with some balsamic vinegar and cherry wine we've had chilling. Then, I put some of the pickled vegetables we had made on top. I roasted brussel sprouts with it because I'm nothing short of obsessed with roasting them.

Espresso coffee with cream and cacao powder + croissants with chocolate (I was a barman and prepared tons of coffees like these long ago).

Croissants! Ah, I need them! They're definitely one of my favorite baked goods. This all looks so freaking good, @Dalph!

I made a chicken stew tonight. Onions, celery, garlic, mushrooms, sweet potatoes, peas, green beans, lemon zest, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper, quinoa.

So, I uhm, made some more food. :kaoswt:

The first is a curried white fish stew. Lime, lime zest, ginger, garlic, green onion, shallot, cilantro, salt, pepper, coriander, cumin, carrot, broccoli, cabbage, rice, sambal oelek, stock, fish sauce, and coconut milk. The second is a lentil falafel burger with a roasted red pepper and tahini spread, and tomato bisque on the side. Happy eatin'! :kaohi:

Watching this thread is making me hungry... And it's bed time, so it's unfair!(why did I clicked on it, why?)
Anyway, one of my favorite foods is codfish with cream. On my birthday, my mother-in-law usually does it to make me happy. Here in Portugal we do a lot of recipes with cod fish lol
When I am the one cooking, I just go into the kitchen and invent something up. No rules and I am the worst to define how much salt to use, so it's usually a big great mess.
I love to cook pasta, and I do it in all the ways I can imagine.
So, chocolate counts, right? I love chocolate too.
And I'll stop right here, thinking about the foods I like is making me more hungry T.T
Nice meals @Ms Littlefish T.T they look great

Going out for afternoon tea today. Hoping for some interesting foods, like clotted cream and canneles. You never know what you are going to get.

I went out and had Korean BBQ because I was ill on Valentines day, so my wife and I went out this weekend instead. Korean BBQ is so stupidly good.

Ahhh...this thread is cool! ;__; I love cooking and eating a variety of different foods. Right now, I'm on a low-calorie diet (-30lbs so far!), and making healthier versions of the foods I love or trying new stuff is keeping me going!

@Touchfuzzy That sounds awesome! I've never been to a Korean BBQ place, and now I really want to find one. We have a lot of Korean grocery stores around here and I usually end up getting their pre-marinated stuff. Those sauces are fantastic!

Though there is a Chinese BBQ place around here that's really authentic (in my totally American opinion haha). When you walk through the door, you see a row of roasted ducks hanging in the area where the chef cuts up the meat. They have these large, round tables with a spinning platform in the center, where they serve family-style meals. It's really cool and now I'm totally hungry! lol

On my date last night with Madeline, the secretary at work, we went to a place that I'd never go to myself because it is outrageously expensive, but the food is really good.

We had fried kalamari as an appetizer, and I had a plate of General Tso Shrimp. Spicy, very, but incredibly good.
Madeline had a dish called 'Gungnam' something; it looked like mealworms drenched in tomato sauce.
We got a small bottle of wine for free because we ordered over a hundred dollars worth of food (easy since the appetizers alone are no less than forty and ours was sixty); it was a bit too sweet for the meal but hey, it's free wine, I'll take it.
I had 'Pin-Pa' for dessert (I likely have that spelled and pronounced wrong); it's like a crunch cake, drizzled with a white chocolate sauce. It's not very sweet, but sweet enough for the wine to taste decent.
Madeline simply had cheesecake with a chocolate sauce, that of which I got to taste when she kissed me after leaving the restaurant.
Leaving out the juicy details, it was certainly unexpected, for the first date, but I always leave myself open just in case of these things.
It was a very fun night, good food, pretty faces to look at, but I most certainly don't feel good today (yeah, the free $18 wine)...

Just made some candy, first batch were mini kisses with coconut and walnuts, second batch was the same with the addition of butterfinger baking bits. Taste like mounds meets almond joy on the first, the second like mounds, almond joy and butterfingers :p

@Kaiju Master If I weren't sick, I'd be so wanting that.

Kidding, I'd love some of that candy. I don't care that I am sick. I have hot chocolate.
