Stop it people!  I'm getting teeth marks on the monitor!

I almost always cook at home and eat out once a week or every 2 weeks.  I'll eat just about anything and everything put in front of me even if its exotic.

I try and do as much scratch cooking as possible for most things.

I might have to post some recipes for you all.

God dammit I'm salivating!'

Let this post be about all of my favorite cakes:

I freakin' love Red velvet. I got one on my 24th birthday, and it's probably not the cake itself that's delicious, but the frosting that goes with it. That might just be true for cake in general, though.

Carrot cake is arguably my MOST favorite. Even on it's own (without frosting), you can warm it up, and taste that carrot-y goodness inside your mouth.

Last, anything with strawberries is a party for my tastebuds.

Funny thing about me: I can generally consume large portions of food without gaining any significant weight, and there are so few days where I ever skip out on dessert. Heck, I'm afraid that I'm losing too much weight atm.

I'd have to agree, Ratty. Carrot cake is one of my favorite cakes, too. It's not too sweet and it's almost never too dry. My chief complaint about deserts are they are too, too sweet and if not prepared properly, are dry. And thus, totally not worth the calories! But when desert is actually made well I don't feel nearly as bad!

Zucchini bread is very similar and  incredibly moist. My garden produces way too many zucchini even when I keep reducing the number of plants I grow, so I make a lot of zucchini bread. Throw in some walnuts and some golden raisins (and I cut the sugar in half). Still, no frosting needed.

I have not had zucchini bread in so long....yum.  I have never actually made it, only had it as a kid.  I am going to have to fix that.

I make banana bread all the time partly because it's moist and yummy, but also because my family has learned if they leave the bananas and they start to get too brown they will get banana bread or muffins...

I made homemade hummus this week, but the pictures just don't do it justice so I'll skip 'em.  It's always bittersweet to make it because my sister took me out to Lebanese not long before she passed and it was my first exposure to good hummus (and many other goodies). She was a foodie too and I picked up many recipes from her :)

This is for QTpi2021:

Straight out of the old as dirt cookie cook boom someone gave someone else in my family that I somehow now have.

Fruit Flavored Cookies

3 tablespoons (3/4 oz) confectioner's sugar (Icing Sugar)

1 package fruit-flavore gelatin powder (.... Jello)

1.5 sticks unsalted butter (3/4 cup)

1/2 teaspoon table salt (or extra fine)

1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla

1 1/2 cups (6 1/4 oz) all purpose flour

Cream sugar, gelatin and butter, salt and vanilla in a bowl

Add flour, stirring to make a cohesive dough

flatten the dough into a disk and wrap in plastic wrap. Chill (until you're ready to use it!)

Roll out thinly and cut 'em out....  OR... (what I do) roll 'em into little balls and put 'em on a cookie sheet

bake at 350 for 10-15 minutes or until lightly golden on bottom (Just like you would for refrigerator cookies)

They're as colorful as they taste! X_X

@ Kaiju What is the first one? It looks good and interesting but I can't figure out what's on top of it!

OK, guys. I have one for you and this is great for fall time. It's almost that special time of year where I leave the windows open with abandonment, light a ton of candles, and make apple everything. But I have a recipe that uses another fall favorite that I don't think gets enough air time, especially for how damn healthful it is, pumpkin. This recipe is from the blog "Budget Bytes." You can find the recipe there. I used less sugar because I totally do not have a sweet tooth and I used a milk substitute because of reasons, point is, it turned out just fine.

Hmm.. I love Asian food.
Mainly I love 芙蓉蛋 or in english after I googled it's Egg Foo Young, and other foods here that I don't know the english name. Actually I can make this myself, but my mother's is the best.
Sorry no image for it. Here some fast google image :

This image different with my Egg Foo Young, only the sauce. I bet mine family recipe is better.

I also love Yakiniku, Katsudon, and Miso Soup too.. I can't make these. I buy these in a japanese food stall near my home.
For western food, I don't know maybe Hamburger or pizza? I just know that :\
Oh yeah cheese cake is good too, with a lot of blueberry sauce :) .  I also can't make these.

If you love cake but want something easy that's not too bad, there's the "3-2-1" cake.  To make it:

1. Purchase 1 Angel Food cake mix (this is required) and 1 of any other type of cake mix you want

2. Mix the two boxes of cake mix together.  I use a large Ziploc bag for this since I seal it afterwards.

Now, to make it:

1. Take 3 Tablespoons of the combined cake mix

2. Put it in a coffee cup

3. Add 2 tablespoons of water

4. Mix with a spoon until the mix looks like cake batter

5. Microwave for roughly 1 minute

The angel food cake mix causes the other one to rise.  And the entire cake has very low calories and fat because it has no eggs (except the Angel Food cake mix), oil or milk.

I sometimes love to make a Chocolate cake mix and top it with PB2.  Yum!

When the cake comes out, it is about the size of a lava cake, but instead of, say, 1000 calories, it's around 100, if that.

The two combined cake mixes make around 20 to 30 of these little cakes.

You can add a small amount of fruit or mini chocolate chips to the cake batter for added flavor.

Just as a curiosity, I wonder if it makes me a bit weird if I say I happen to like fruitcake. You know, that dense loaf of holiday-season sweetness that is so oft-maligned. I don't celebrate the holidays, but I like fruitcake, because I can pick apart bits of chewy fruit and nuts and bread, oh my!

(Objection! Fruitcake is not a real cake! ... Okay sit down now, Phoenix Wright.)

If it were a pie you'd be right, but that's actually oatmeal! It's baked in an oven rather than cooked on a stovetop. :D   I've nver had baked oatmeal partially because I for one loooove the mushy yet chewy texture oatmeal has, and it's so filling and god for you and comforting <3 <3 <3

vanilla.. my favorite. That'd go great with this homemade peanut butter cookies with peanut butter chips in them :)

They're really lite on the chips because I only had a 1/3 pack of them when I made a triple batch.. bad math skills there! Then later that night I remembered I could have put the Reese's Peices I had in the batter.. oh well.. they're still good as you can tell the container is nearly empty =P

It's not the best photo as it was taken with my phone cause I didn't feel like digging out the camera.

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
