It just seems like he covers too much distance in a short time. I would like him to move as fast as Dragon Warrior 1 did if possible.

Can I do this?

Set up an auto-run event with a Move Route command, make sure the target is Player, then you can set the speed lower. Make sure to use the Erase Event command after that. Until you change the Player speed again, it will stay that way.

I'm not sure how that interacts with dashing, so you might want to look into disabling dashing as well.

Adding to the above, the move route must be the "set speed: x" option, disabling dash is a must if you want slower overall movement.

I'm not sure about that. I used a move route to change the player's graphic, and it reset when I went to another map.

Also, dashing will affect this, as mentioned above. Using vehicles will affect it as well.

Probably better to get a tiny plugin that will let you set the player speed and incorporate that into the above modifiers.

Never knew about the player graphic change with set move route, that's very strange. Speed works, though, just tested it in MV and MZ. Guess you should use "Change Actor Images" when trying to change the player graphic permanently, then.

Yes, I did that. But it shows that at least some of the move route settings get reset on changing maps.

That is strange. I hope I don't encounter this issue (haven't yet) and movement speed changes on different terrain and different types of maps I'm using, e.g. trudge slowly through snow, but move faster indoors. I do have a change speed movement route set on my player transfers to different maps, though, so hopefully it will continue to work.

EDIT: Whoops, reread what you were saying, I misunderstood.

My question is, how do you do a custom speed? The "normal" speed is too fast for a normal pace, but the setting below that to slow the character down is too slow. Something in between the two would be great for my game as a "default" speed. I tried a script I saw in a previous thread using a decimal, such as 3.5 in my case, but it didn't change the speed at all, and it caused some tearing when the map would scroll. :(

Spend more time building up what you like, and stop tearing down things you don't. If you only tear stuff down, nobody will get to enjoy anything.
Work, work. Streaming in 20 minutes or so.
