I want to buy the Steam version and am quite worried that I won't be able to open up my recent project because it took a lot of my time
Can I open the projects I've created in the trial version with the steam version?

Yes, you will be able to open the project with the Steam version.
If you buy from the website though, you will get the standalone version AND the steam version. If you buy from Steam you only get the steam version. If that's worth anything

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
