Mv doesn't fit with my needs, i will be strictly using VX ace. i bought it on steam and steam doesnt want to give me a refund because i have used it for more than 2 hour, which is not fair since i have only used it for 15 minute but left it open. is it possible that the people here on this forum help me get a refund?

Oh, you bought it on Steam?  I guess I assumed you just bought it here.  Still, send a support ticket here if the Steam people won't help you out.  I don't know if they can do anything or not, but if anyone can, it'll be our support team :)

You might want to refer to steams refund policy

http://store.steampowered.com/steam_refunds/

You can also submit a ticket directly on steams website, even if MV does not show up -- you just need to give them the correct info.  I've had to do that with a few indie titles I had purchased.  They're usually pretty cool about it

It looks like on this site "other" is an option for product name on a support ticket. I would use that and specify in the text box that you are talking about MV.

While you're welcome to contact support to see if they have any other ideas, we can't issue Steam refunds -- Valve is in charge of those. :)

Could you contact valve to ask them to give me a refund. this is part of the reason why i wanted to cancel my pre-order and buy it on this website. but i didnt know the refund policy at that time.

Unfortunately, and I'm really sorry for being so blunt, Steam's refund policy is very clear about making requests on products that had been in use for more than two hours, or on an account for two weeks. You should have been more careful about how you were using MV.

This policy has been in effect for the past several months and is easily accessible for viewing whenever you need it. Third-Party distributors (not Steam / Valve) cannot make requests for refunds on your behalf, especially when Steam is the platform you purchased the product on.

Be a bit more careful with your purchases in the future to avoid this issue.

i believe it is unfair because it is a developpers tool and not a game. those 2 shouldn't be treated the same. i wish i had been more careful and i would probably would have cancelled the pre-order if i knew that i could. It is also written on steam that it is typically not refunded, not typically means that it happens sometime. this should be done in my case.

You haven't been able to return software anywhere for a very long time. It doesn't matter if it is a game or MS office. Places that allow refunds are less common than not. Steam even allowing any refunds at all is new. A few years ago I wanted a refund for faulty development software sold on their store and I got my account locked by Valve because I complained. Back then there was no chance at a refund without getting your bank involved and Valve threatening to lock your account and remove your access from all your software.

At least now you have a chance.

Point still holds, don't buy stuff expecting to return it. Wait for trial versions.

well i feel cheated because i felt pressured because of the added bonus of the pre-order. i thought it included the plugins script but it only included character set and music, i wouldnt have bought it pre-order if i was correctly informed.

Developpers tool shouldn't be treated like games. i have used the tool for less than 15 minute, i think it is unfair that playing time include time you left it open and did not use it at all. i requested to have the product sold on here by this website after i got it on steam, because i wanted to have both versino, but i was told i could not. i should have been told to get a refund from steam and buy it here, but the staff didn't tell me that i could.

1) There was a large amount of plug ins available with the preorder. I'm not sure how to access them through Steam, but they were available.

2) It is not a company's fault that you gave in to pressure to buy - that choice is on you.

3) Steam has no way of knowing what you are doing with the app open. It merely counts the amount of time the app is running. I could just as easily open a new game, play for 5 minutes, pause, walk away and forget it's still running. Steam is not a babysitter to monitor every thing you are doing in the app.

4) Did you ask the staff here about it before your 2 hours on Steam was up? You preordered on Steam and then realized you would have preferred to preorder here - did you contact Steam about a refund then, so that you could then purchase it from the RMW store?

I'm sorry, but you're not making a lot of sense. You keep switching up your reasoning and yet, still demanding that the staff here must give you a refund. Ultimately, it is up to the buyer to research what they are buying and make an informed decision. Sometimes we make bad decisions but that it still our own responisbility.

Also, if you have Ace and want to stick with it, you should have had some concept of what you were getting with MV. There are enough similarities that you had to have an idea.

There is nothing we have control over here. Steam's refund policy is their refund policy, and we can't change that.

1) i thought you needed to use the pre-order in order to have access to the script plugins, am i wrong? if so then i was pressured to get the plugins that is what i meant.
2) yes, but false advertisement is a crime, i am not accusing anyone of it though, it may have been my mistake.
3) it is a developper's tool, Steam could simply put in a program that monitor's activity, which closes the counter if it is inactive for more than 5 minute.
4) i have contacted the people here to get a pre-order on this website instead, but since i bought it on steam they told me i couldn't get it here as well, i did not know i could ask for a refund, i was not advised to do so here. i did not even know it was possible to get a refund at all.

how am i switching up my reasoning? i am not demanding that the staff here gives me a refund, i have made an informed decision , i simply left the program open for more than 2 hour. it is also said that i can be refunded albiet it is not typically done. literally , you change the rules as you see fit in order to attack me.

it is absolutly not fair to give the same standard to a developper's tool as to a game when it comes to refund policy. especially since it is an usual thing to leave a developper's tool open while doing something else like surfing the web etc.

It was Cover Character set, and 'Essentials' Set that came with the preorder. Plugins were available for all purchases. It was never advertised in the way you're stating.

It's a shame you've thrown in the towel so early, I'm finding MV rich and powerful, and am having a blast making games with it personally.

If you have a problem, take it up with Steam. We can't change this.

i thought it was, i don't think it was clear in the pre-order website. i literally thought you needed to get pre-order to get any JS plugins. that is the only reason why i got the pre-order in the first place, this could be my mistake.

are you part of the staff in any sort of way?

Just beat the last of us 2 last night and starting jedi: fallen order right now, both use unreal engine & when I say i knew 80% of jedi's buttons right away because they were the same buttons as TLOU2 its ridiculous, even the same narrow hallway crawl and barely-made-it jump they do. Unreal Engine is just big budget RPG Maker the way they make games nearly identical at its core lol.
