transfer event only allows moving an event to another location on the same map, or SWAPPING locations with another event someplace..

is there a script command I can use to move an event to another map?

I COULD create a variable at the end of the event's 1st incarnation and then erase event, then get the new event to show only if the variable is set to X.

and continue as if that was the same character, yet now someplace else?   anyone know if this might work?

No you cannot simply transfer events to another map.

As far as I'm aware, there are no scripts that can do such a thing. Could be wrong.

Yes you would somehow need to "continue" an event on another map. An event is not a character. You simply use a character graphic as needed in an event for NPCs.

I usually do it with switches. With variables it seems a little bit confusing, I create one event in one map and then when everything that I want to happen with that event is done, I simple create a switch that erases it. Then, in the other map, I set the event to appear only when the switch is on and continue from there.

Hope this helps.

This is one reason why I wanted us to be able to set an event page to have = and != instead of just >=. Even so the awnser is no, you can´t move an event to another map.
If for instance the event is a npc in a quest chain, say you want the npc to move from map to map to give the player diffrent quest, you have to do as Guiguimu said and make it by switches and turn these switches on and off to match the quest chain, aswell as having an event on each map show the npc/questgiver.
I however prefer doing it with variables, that way I can jump ahead in a quest chain, or brach it, and each quest chain needs only 1 variable instead of X switches, but the event pages you need is no joke. Instead of simply having QuestChainX=10 you need pages to tell the game what happens on quest chain 9 and 11 aswell so it doesn´t remain when it should be somewere else.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
