Can i use music from RPG Maker elsewhere?

Hi guys, i bought RMK MV and i'm doing a video for a teaser product for a contest to get money for a gaming project

I'm going to make an animated teaser to mockup the gameplay and i wish to use RPG Maker music for this purpose, could i get copyright trouble for this?

It depends. If you use the stock it’s for public use. Others, such as user made content are too depending on the agreement. Some of the terms may reflect for game use only or for private development and not for commercial use, unless you payout royalties. Just read the terms of use policies. It will tell you what you can and cannot use.

Unfortunately @Freakydedmnky messed up several things here.

1) RTP/Stock resources of the RPG-Makers are for use with RPG-Makers only, but it never matters if commercial or non-commercial and that has nothing to do with "public use" either.

That includes allowing screenshots or videos of actual game footage in advertisements, but it does NOT include using the musik without the game engine.
So basically if you record a let's play of a game done with the engine - even if that is an incomplete or fake game - then you're OK.
Using it in a mockup that never used the game engine itself is breaking the EULA, and again that has nothing to do with commercial or non-commercial or public or non-public use.

Thus why I said, read the terms. I have several music items that I have downloaded from outside sources that allow you to use for any source. And what I meant by public use is that if you create a game using rpg maker you aren’t paying royalties, let me be clear on that point. Public use means either for profit or non profit that the public has access to. Some music that comes with packs requires royalties or mentions depending on the source. Yes I screwed up by saying stock is public domain, that was an oops of grammar and no explanation. A person can use it in a commercial (public) setting as long as they use it in the engine, otherwise they have to have permission and possibly pay royalties to the company or composer depending on the source and terms of use policy. Again please READ the terms of anything you download or use in game.
