That is usually a sign that you did something wrong with the animation.
Because if the animation is done right, the play button will work.
You can test that with any default animation - and if those don't show either then your program is probably broken and should be reinstalled

Post a screenshot of the animation in the database and perhaps we can see what you did wrong

I would do the following:

- Try if any of the default animations is working. If they do, then your new animation has something wrong, but we'll need some images about how you set that.
- If any of the default animations is not working it might be two probable main causes
- You need to reinstall the software.
- Your graphics card software is not the most current version or you must reinstall your graphics
software again.

Sometimes is the graphics software that is sort of unistalled from the operating system, so you might need to reinstall it. Others is because of the system being not installed properly.

I think you have an issue with your graphics software, check if it is installed or is up to the lattest version. This did happen to me once, I checked my graphics card software and noticed it was not installed, in an update from Windows, somehow it got uninstalled. I downloaded the latest version and reinstalled everything and then that made the animations work again. Try doing that and see if that might be the problem.

the preview is still not showing.
your screenshot shows neither a target nor a battleback.
you need at least a target to tell the engine where to target the demonstration, and both should be set automatically to a default. To have the window completely black suggest that you deleted those defaults, or that something else got wrong.

please select a target and a battleback and then try again

that's also the problem I tried to some default target and battle back ground but it's not showing in the preview.

There have been instances where the graphics card software was not installed on a device, or it was uninstalled during a Windows update. In such cases, downloading and installing the latest version of the software resolved the issue and allowed the animations to function properly. Regards, apkworlds

What do you see if you click on change target? Can you give a screenshot of that window before confirming anything?

And what is the folderpath where you stored your project?
Please give the full folderpath beginning with the drive letter to the index.html file

And also please give the model and make of your display card/chip

and what about my other questions?

those were actually the more important ones

Although if "The Nerd" is your username, then you CANNOT use the default location (documents) for storing your projects, you have to move them to a folder whose path does not contain spaces.

It doesn't matter if it is a laptop or a pc, you need to update or reinstall your graphics software, not change it entirely.
For example, I also use a laptop for MZ, my laptop has an AMD Radeon graphics, but it still requires a graphics software, all you need to do is go to the device's manufacturer page and download the appropiate software and install it. So far, this issue has happened to me at least twice, and both times all I had to do was reinstall the graphics software, because Windows update, for whatever reason, simply decided that the graphics software wasn't needed and uninstalled it.

Ooops ended up trying out making my own A2 tile page instead of testing doors everywhere. Went well so far I think.
I guess I'm done making a blue squirrel's life difficult for posting new threads on different forums.
That's just for today so don't get used to this, squirrel-ish friend! :p
Got new hard drive, now trying to install the softwares I lost to the dead drive, and more than half of them won't install because they're already installed on the dead drive, and uninstallers won't run because they can't find where their programs are installed. So I take it having a drive die on you screws you in more ways than just data loss. >:\
PC got fixed finally. Back online again. Turns out I have no business trying to self repair pcs because it was getting to like 176F / 80C. Shop installed a totally new cooling system and now it runs fine and is super quiet.
When you're making major progress, but have to stop to go to work.
