There is a option the equipment feature box sadly lacks, the ability to turn on/off switches, so I'm wandering if you can use Notetags to do that(hopefully without the need of creating a whole new script, so the notetags can read it. I'm hoping such a commonly used aspect like switches is already hard coded for notetags to beable to do), if so, what would the snippet be for a equiped item to turn on a switch(also to turn off a switch when not equiped, if possible)?

I think you're on a misconception here: Notetags don't do anything by default. They are simply saved as part of the data, but that's it. Maybe it's even safe to say that Notetags don't do anything aside from providing tags.

Though to answer the question, yes you can. As long as you make a script that reads that notetag and does what you want.

Anyway, to do what you want, you can utilize Tsukihime's Equip Events instead (I'm if Right, it was by Tsukihime)

Well I was hoping the developers would've coded the system to beable to read notetags for such a feature.

Sigh, I was afraid of such, what else does it do/can you post a link?

Well, the notes are just notes if we go by the editor descriptions. The early coders just got to realize that they can actually make scripts read and parse them out.

As for the Equip Event script, basically it allows you to run common events when you equip (and hopefully unequip) something... try looking in hime's site or the masterlist

Ok, so the RPG Maker developers meant it just to be added info for the developer of the game(that's what I thought it was for, until I found many scripts using them).

Oh ok, then that's great(was afraid it was gonna force other things on you, but if all it does is call a common event, It's really just upto the developer as to what it does.

To Kerbonkin: Cool, thanks.

Yes, it was just meant to allow you to put in extra notes if you feel like it.

The devs use it by default for noting that Skill 1 for example is used as Attack command

Notetags don't do anything unless you tell them to, via scripts.

I've moved this thread to RGSS3 Script Requests. Please be sure to post your threads in the correct forum next time. Thank you.

Does Hime's script meet your needs, or are you still searching?

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
