Since I love editing tiles, sprites and portraits, I thought I will begin sharing some of my stuff. I'd love to hear feedback. You can give me suggestions, too, but I can't guarantee that I will make them. I also don't like doing emotion sets, mainly because I'm really bad at it. I'm still learning, thats why I have only edits here now. If someone wants to do emotion sets for my portraits, just go ahead ^^

If you are unsure on how to use any of my resources, don't hesitate to ask!

Terms of Use

Free to use for non-commercial and commercial games so long as you give me credits (and Enterbrain unless otherwise is stated). Feel free to edit my stuff (credits are still needed), but don't repost my originals here or on other plattforms without my permission.

Roofs:
Farm, Vikings, Mack RTP Style

My viking roofs, mostly the same as my Mack RTP Style roofs, but only for 3-tiles wide houses and with less events needed. The extras can be added on the right and left side of the normal A3 roofs.

Here are my Mack Roof Edits in VX Ace Style. I contributed them to the October 2013 ReStaff. Since then I fixed some recolorization issues and added shadings for the chimneys and towers. If you don't know how to use those roofs, check out my Mack Roof Tutorial.

Castle
The autotile border of the castle is meant to be used with the straight castle wall tiles that are included in the standard rtp. With shift-mapping you can create a seamless border with the diagonal castle tiles.

Interior:

You can find some animated tiles for the fireplace, the kettles and the sconce in my Animations section. I made a game with my minigame tiles, just to demonstrate some minigames. Attic
From the Scarestaff 2015. The beams are much more easier to use as parallax, but I made the screenshot in the editor alone (with a lot of events for the beams), so it is possible. To make an attic, make at first the floor (I used my farm floor (in my resource thread under A5), then I used an A4 wall and made the wall only 1 tile high and walled it of with the A4 top part. I made a pretty straight long room, but you could make some extensions on the left or right side depending on the shape of your house. The main attic is 5 tiles wight. Now, put one of the fitting attic triangles on top of the 1 tile wall. After that, you might have to use shift-mapping to make the 1 tile wall seamless.

Farm
From the June ReStaff 2015. The animal boxes inside the barn might be hard to set up right since you want the animals behind the walls but the player sprite in front of it. Set the tiles in question to star passability and then use NeonBlack's Large Sprite Display Fix Script. You can find some fitting roofs in the roof section.

A2:

Some interior tiles to use for a pub, tavern or basic housing. Unfortunately the round carpets in A2 don’t work very well around edges, but they are useful for straight horizontal or vertical forms.

The last one are A5 stairs. The beginning of the stairs is only half the length of a normal tile, so that it looks more realistic when placed.

World Tiles:
The water tiles are meant to used with shift-mapping so that they don't have a border when you are using them with the two field grass tiles.

This is not a Plug&Play A2 Tileset. All of those edits have to be on the right side of the A2 picture and as you can see one column is on the left side. So, just use a graphics program and combine my edits with the standard world A2 set. All of the mountains are on my world mountain set as well, but of course there they aren't auto-tiles anymore.

Here are the animated tiles for some lights and the kettle used in my pub and apothecary set. The bonfire is used for my fireplaces in the pub set. The bonfire is the same, just the positioning is different to fit the two different fireplaces.

Here are animated tiles for the Harvest Market. If you use the lampion animation sheet in combination with the lampion posts from the tileset, be sure to place the animated lampion events one tile further down, this way they will align correctly. Either use a stepping animation on the slowest setting or a move route.

btw, since they are edits, can you tell us which RTP they came from, coz I believe RTP edits are still tied to the EULA of the RTP which it came from... that is of course for RTP edits... :)

Oh, I totally forgot that since I have VX and VX Ace. But I used VX Ace RTP for all this stuff, for the Roofs as well. I work mostly with Ace.

First I will finish the last three heros for Hero Party A. Then I'm open for up to 4 requests for dark skinned characters! I really want to try those. So, if someone is interested in dark skinned characters, I would love to hear your ideas. Would be great, if you had descriptions, pictures or sprites for inspiration ^^ Those portraits could be used by anyone and would be most likely available in the next ReStaff.

How bout a dark skinned portrait of a character based on Sword Art Online's Agil? So basically a dark skinned man, bald, with a bit of armor... :)

It is not a big update, but I finally managed to finish Hero 8. With her the Mack Hero Party A is complete. I'm planning on doing Hero Party B, too, but right now with me moving to a new apartment time is scarce, so I will have to put that on hold. Next I will try those dark skinned portraits :)

Hey there,

I just wanted you all to know that I added my Mack Roof Edits to this thread. I fixed some recolorization issues and added shadings for the chimneys and towers. The nature roofs are unchanged, I edited only the tower bases and the sideway chimneys there. I fixed a shading/recolor problem with the wooden beam between the roof on all basic roof files.

Roof is a weird word.. :unsure:

I also added a small portrait edit and a mack sprite for it.

Oh, almost forgot. For the next ReStaff I'm planning on doing an exterior tilesheet, mainly focusing on nature (plants, trees etc.), but probably windows, too. I'm now (and till the end of march) open to requests and suggestions for exterior tiles with a focus on nature. I can't garantee I'll make them and since this is my first time even trying to edit plants, it could very well end in utterly disaster.

Okay, as a result of a request, I added some small world tile edits. Nothing major, just some recolors and arranging.

You can find them under Tiles --> World Tiles.

Great job on the newest tile set in the restaff resource.  Thank you for including the cabinet glass doors separately, that helps a lot with editing/playing around with matching up colors.  The pistol and mortar are something that are usually missing from mid evil settings.

Huge breakthrough! I finally fixed the dimensions on the WEBM used in the cinematic that ends the demo and introductory segment in MC:RIS, around the one-minute mark:



(There's some audio desync because the capture is an MP4.)
Kudos to everyone making game jam games, because this month has been hell for my development time. I have made a cutscene, 2 sprites, and 1 tile.
