I'm not sure if this is a bug or a security setting, but I can't copy/paste my injections in the F8 Javascript Console. I've been typing them manually, but it's really too slow. The autotype works too, I just can't copy all that I made it type.

Right click reveals no copy/paste in the contextual menu and CMD+C/V do nothing either.

I know with Firefox, you have to disable a paste security setting that was made to prevent self-XSS.

I've recently come to understand that the game wrapper is a Chromium browser, but I'm unaware of any such setting in that/this since this is RPG Maker MV.

I've been Googling every so often for a solution. I finally decided to make a thread.

EDIT: That this is Mac (which is only Steam) #2 This is the console in only the game wrapper. The console works fine in browsers. #3 Not using any plugins. This console is like step 1 in writing any plugin, that does not yet exist.

Thanks for pointing that out. You reminded me to add an extra detail to my thread, that this is Mac. I've also reinstalled recently for another problem, but this problem has been prevalent both before and after the reinstall.

Yes but my there is some small bug in some situation.
It does not come from the debug console from software, but from chrome engine am think.
Example the best easy way i use alway, but no working, is [ CTRL+A , CTRL+C ]
Trying to do the same in chrome with tag inspector, the restrictions are the same.
You need to manually select what you need, but , is not work good all time.

Developer tools is a completely separate thing to MV - different software, different company.  This is not an MV issue.

Right, but something in RPG Maker MV seems to be disabling the clipboard in hosted mode. (I produced this message)

Do I have a choice in changing my dev tools in the chrome web store? I think no.

EDIT:

FYI, am talking about the dev tools in the Chromium RPG MV game wrapper. The dev tools function correctly in my Chrome and other browsers. I could debug in the browsers, but this workaround is not very handy at all, though I can't believe it's better than the answers so far.

What's hosted mode?  How did you get it to run like that?  I'm having no issues, though there could be a lot of differences between your setup and mine.

I honestly don't know what it is. The error comes from the dev tools copy(); function. It seems like with words on it the problem could be google-able. Google tells me that this is a notorious reoccurring Chrome (the browser) bug in dev tools for some people around the internet, rather than a preference.

My quick guess based on nothing is that it's a Mac security thing for running apps in file:/// like Flashplayer Mac has. (because self XSS could grab a file contents and send it to a server) I thought about running a game in MAMP, put the project in my local host and did an in game document.location = localhost/game which the game played, but console still has no copy/paste.

I discovered the html element inspector on the contrary does have copy html, but the console clipboard is still off even in the escape key: split screen on that tab. This leads me to believe that it's a security pref I don't know about, but Google doesn't back up that theory.  I'll keep playing around with the preferences until I find something and Googling this dev tools problem to see if there is parallel solution.

I also discovered today that this game wrapper Chrome may be out of date if that has anything to do with it. If you document.location to google.com in-game it has a Chrome version detecting notice, like an old IE ActiveX.

I'm not sure if this message is accurate and the update link just downloads a fresh copy of Chrome, worthless to me.

So right now, I'm guessing the only way to update the wrapper is through Steam, which I'm checking out right now. Went to MV properties > updates > and set updates to high priority, nothing yet. I know Chrome updates a lot; not sure if Steam will make it keep up. This problem was happening before and after a recent reinstall, so I don't immediately want to reinstall yet.

EDIT: I figured a workaround, but I hope it's temporary. It takes getting used to, but drag and drop still works the clipboard.

I hope this isn't a premature bump, but this thread was two pages back and I have more information.

I just tested this; this copy/paste bug also happens when I start in safe mode, so this problem isn't being caused by a 3rd party app.

I also figured my game wrapper has a flaw so I deleted the whole nwjs-osx folder and let Steam redownload it with integrity check.

That did nothing either; the problem persists.

I've googled and googled and according to this error message V

Clipboard is not enabled in hosted mode. Please inspect using chrome://inspect
...this problem seems to be a Developer Tools bug with Chrome 26 and I've found so little information about it. A lot of the pages are in techonese and I don't understand it, or else they are bug reports that are only solved with Chrome's latest update.

I also noticed Select All is missing from the menu and CMD+A does nothing too.

I'm chalking this one up as an official bug report to the Mac version of RPG Maker MV. I've got no other ideas.
