Can't download RPG Lite

Hello everyone!

I'm new in these forums and I will get RPG XV Ace for Christmas. Because there's 2 months to wait, I want use the Lite version during those months. But when I've downloaded the file (it's mysteriously .rar file, instead of .zip file), I can't install it to my computer! Does anybody know, what I have to do? I've tried to change it to .zip file, but the file becomes useless then. I have Windows 7 and I use Chrome as a browser. Is there anything else to know in order to solve my problem?

Get winrar or 7zip to unpack it. (I'm not positive if I can link them so just search.. Sorry)

.rar is another time of archive file similar to .zip

or iZarc, it seems nice for a freeware tool for archiving... basically, that's it...

btw, changing file types via rename is mostly a bad idea... Golbez... hahaha

In that case, you might want to follow the link in my signature to get started - that tutorial isn't only about RM but also how to handle general things in game development.

If you're still having trouble with it, you could do what I ended up doing and get it through Steam.

Not only does it not have to be unpacked, but while with the stand-alone version you need to register the program, with the Steam version it registers automatically.

He's already getting it, just not for 2 months. This is about Ace Lite, not the full version

The stand-alone Lite version needed to be registered too when I tried it. Drove me crazy because it couldn't establish a "trusted connection" from McDonalds wifi. Finally went through Steam and that worked fine.

Nope, the registration prompt is for when you want to upgrade lite to full... just click continue using trial to use Lite...

I wish, but the "Lite" had no trial mode at all. It was register or don't use. You can ask Touchfuzzy, I spent 2 days chatting with him, including screenshots trying to figure out what the problem was.

it didn't prompt me for registration when I installed Lite on the office, it just brings the activation menu whenever I open it... anyway, if you cannot get a secure connection with mcdo, why not try somewhere else?
