Can't Install RPG Maker MV on macOS Catalina

Hi,

I just purchased online RPG Maker for my MacBook Pro running macOS Catalina, however, I can't install the game.

In the e-mail I received, they tell me to download the setup file, which I did, and to follow the instructions. However, when I click on the file I downloaded, it says that the Unarchiever can't open the file. So, I don't know how to install RPG Maker.

Is it because of macOS Catalina?

the email contains only the windows instructions. That should be changed @Touchfuzzy

You need to install Steam on your MacOS and use the key you were given to activate the steam version (the licence you purchased covers both steam and standalone) and then install RPG Maker through steam, because the MacOS version is currently only available through steam.

But I downloaded steam, and it says that because of macOS Catalina, I cannot download RPG Maker. And I don't know how to use the key on steam :/

Nice, I downloaded RPG Maker and it seems to work. Now I have another question. In the email I received after purchasing the software, I got several packages to download to get extra things in RPG Maker. How can I add them on my Mac?

when steam is installed, one of the menu options is "activate a product on steam", that's where you have to enter the key.

all resources and DLC are simply files (pictures or sounds) that would be added into the projects where they are needed - and only in those projects, you should not add them to projects where you don't plan to use them.
Then you can use the resource manager to add them to the project that is currently open in the editor program.

they should be automatically available as DLC in Steam and as such accessable through the DLC button of the resource manager, but you can download them if you want to check them with other programs as well.
