OK so here is the problem. I'm creating a class that I don't want to learn the attack ability before level 5. However just setting the ability to be learned at level 5 doesn't make it unavailable. Anyone with any advise on what to do. Furthermore i made Heal the level 1 skill instead but that can't be used. problem 2.png problem.png

Attack is the basic skill available to everyone and everything - that's the reason why it (and the guard skill) are top-level commands at the combat menu, not in the usual skill group selections.

To change that, you'll need a script.

There are several "command managers" available on the master script list (I think one from Yanfly and one from Tsukihime) that allow complete changes to the combat commands, and even more smaller skripts that change only part of the command structure.

Without more info on your game, you'll have to look for yourself which of those scripts would fit you best.

I still would not change the first two skills to something else. You're likely to mess up much more than you get working properly.

This topic is kind of old but in case anyone is still attempting this...

To achieve this without a script you can make two classes with the same name. Set the max level of 1 to 5 and that's the starting class for the character and have the other be normal for what you want.

In the first class give it the feature seal skill (attack) and you'll remove the attack ability.

Now at the start of your game make certain you turn on a control switch well use control switch 001 for the example.

Create a common event with the trigger being control switch 001 being ON and have it set to parallel process. In the common event give it a conditional branch. IF the Actor is level 5 Change class from the one with attack sealed to the one without. Also turn off Control switch 001. ELSE (leave it blank so nothing happens)

And there you go. The biggest issue with this method is experience you gained past level 5 won't carry over. You could cheat and make it look like it did by adding an odd number of XP after changing classes. Like 7 or something depending on how much exp your enemies give.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
