Hey everyone! My names Dan & I'm kinda new to this whole forum thing, but I've spent some time recently trying to build my own game using RPG Maker VX Ace for Steam. I've had great fun! ...Until I got back into it recently and forgot how to do a few things. One of them was me making a new area & wanting to put music in there by using a square in the far bottom right corner of my map unused to put both events of a BGS & BGM. Once I had done this I could not move my player in-game. I've uploaded some screen shots to give you an idea.

There was also another matter with Steam DLC, I know I have installed it via steam however... I don't see the tiles the DLC provides. Does it have to be manually done? I am looking on all 3 tabs of all types of map regions as well. However, I may have figured it out a while back with the music, I seem to have a few DLC BGM's. But, I have not been using VX Ace for some time now.

I do apologize for asking so much help on my first post & I appreciate any advice given on the matters. Thanks. ^____^

RMMV
You have it set as an autorun event, which is fine (it does need to be autorun or parallel process), but autorun and parallel process events loop by default, and autorun events take away the player's control.

You don't need a Play BGM and Play BGS command to repeat while you're on the map, so you just need to "stop" the event after the commands have run.  If you want the same BGM/BGS to run each time you come to this map, just add an Erase Event command in there at the end.

However, is there a reason why you're using an event to do this instead of just setting them up in map properties?  The only reason I can think to use an event is if you sometimes don't want the same BGM/BGS to play, depending on what part of the game you're up to.

wrt Steam dlc, yes, you have to add it manually.  There is a tutorial on Steam showing you how to do it.  The easiest way is just to locate your dlc folder and copy the required files into your game's appropriate project folders.

Ah right, I see! Thanks for that I understand, it's kind of like if you was to create a cut scene? You could have separate music to go with the emotion with the text? Something like that? Also, yeah I realized I had BGS & BGM on my main map, I actually did the smart thing and checked all my previous settings on all my events haha. I was just really excited to start this again ^_^

Okay, I'll have a look on Steam. I think the last time I tried that I had left it, because I'm not exactly sure what tiles are what, such as floor, walls, items, ect. I did not want to put a floor tile in the objects folder haha, does the tutorial cover that?

Thanks a lot Shaz as well, you've been most helpful so far <('.'<)  :)

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
How many parameters is 'too many'??
Yay, now back in action Happy Christmas time, coming back!

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
