Hello! I've recently switched from RPG Maker MV to MZ and love it so far. However, I can't seem to preview messages in the "show text" event command as well as I can't preview animations in the animation player. There are a couple of other things I can't do. Is this something I've done wrong or am I experiencing a bug?

all previews function regularly for me.
I suggest you describe what you do (where you click what) and what exactly happens, we can't tell if you made a mistake if you don't tell what you did.

I open the database, I click on animations->Hit Physical->Play and I am met with a black screen in the preview. I went as far as to create a new project and see if it was my project that was the issue but it can't preview animations or test either. My next step is to uninstall and reinstall MZ and see if that helps.

Edit: Reinstall of MZ did not help, however a new project now displays the animations.

Edit2: It seems like directory/project name could be the issue, I created multiple new projects but only got the preview issue when I created a project with a
Code:
'
in it.

yes - ALL foldernames have to follow networking rules, and as soon as you use a foldername that contains letters or symbols that are not allowed under networking rules, the browser can't load any game resource any longer.

However that has nothing to do with a dot - you need to find out what symbols were wrong in the other folders to know what names you can use.
For example spaces are absolutely forbidden in folder- or filenames of HTML5-based programs, and quite a number of other rules like only latin letters and arabic numbers, only a limited number of special signs and so on.

I've also been having this issue over the last week or so. Both with previewing my character dialogue and with my spell animations. Where does one even begin to look for the culprit? I haven't added any folders to my project lately, and I don't see any with odd characters.

depends on what you believe "odd characters" are.

SPACE is a forbidden character under networking rules, so having a foldername with a space in it is enough to cause problems. And the case above happened with a dot in the filename.

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
