Good morning everyone! I have a question for you lovely forum users/moderators. So, I deployed my MV project for Mac and sent it in a zip file to my friend to playtest. He unzipped the file and played it. Upon playing it everything worked fine except for the fact he cannot save his file. Does anyone know how to fix this/troubleshoot? Thank you :)

It wasn't an error he received, he just couldn't save his game at all. When he pressed Confirm/Enter on a save file nothing

happened at all. The only thing that happened was the 'Cancel' sfx would be played everytime he attempted to save.

I don't know Mac very well, but it sounds like the folder he put the game in may be preventing the game from writing files due to a lack of permissions. This problem is common when people installed their Ace games to the Program Files folders, and the games were unable to write save files due to the lack of permission to.

If this is not the cause, then some debugging in the code will have to be done to find specifically where the saving fails. Saving is written to prevent the game from crashing when there's a problem with it.

I'm asking my friend where he put the game. I had him download my demo straight from dropbox so Im going to assume he accessed it from his downloads folder ( but like you, I don't know Mac very well). I had this problem with Windows when the game was accessed from the program files but I fixed this easily by having the installer install the game at a different location. So for the Mac version I assume it is a very similar issue.

So once I find out which folder he accessed the game from I can report back. Thank you for your help so far though :)

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? Versus the normal look...

Kind of gives a very different feel. :LZSexcite:
To whom ever person or persons who re-did the DS/DS+ asset packs for MV (as in, they are all 48x48, and not just x2 the pixel scale) .... THANK-YOU!!!!!!!!! XwwwwX
