Card Based Battle system?

Is there such thing as a Card Based Battle System for MV?

If there isn't, can someone make me this plugin?
If there is, can someone direct me to it?

Basically the way I want it to work is to be able to add skills to a Actor's skill list (through normal MV means), then that Actor be able to build a Deck with skills he's learned.

In Battle, it would make you Draw cards from this Deck, and you'd only be able to use skills if you had them in your Hand.

And if possible I'd like it to be compatible with Yanfly's Battle Engine Core (doesn't have to be with any of the extension plugins, just the Core itself).

And, let me know if you'll be making this plugin for me so I can give you more details on the way I want it to work.

These look cool, but they're aren't exactly what I'm looking for...

I'm looking for a system that relates to games like Wizard 101's Battle System (look up a video(s) of a battle and deck building to get an idea of what I'm looking for if you don't already know), where you have a starting hand of cards and draw 1 every turn. These cards are bound to skills defined as such in the Database. When the player learns these skills, they get the ability to put them into their Deck.

Mainly something like that.

Yes, that recreates the Triple Triad mini game from FF8, it's not an actual Battle System.

There is a script for VXAce that does the exact thing I stated in my last post. I'm looking for something that (at least comes close to) is the same on MV. I don't know if that script author is writing for MV, that's why I started this thread.

They posted a video on how it works, but I can't find the original post.

Designing a battle system for RPG Maker MV in JavaScript is a huge task. It's unlikely that you're going to find someone willing to do this for free. With that said, have you considered eventing the system? It might take a long time and trial-and-error, but you'll learn a lot in the process.

Also, you might need to change your ideas to work with the engine. RPG Maker MV just may not be capable of doing some things you want to do without heavy scripting and financial dedication.

On a rudimentary level, items could represent cards in battle. You can also use the show picture command to show "cards" on the screen, and use variables to determine random cards that are drawn. For example, the game generates a random number between 1 and 20, each one corresponding to a card. The game then checks if that card is in your "deck" (inventory, party lineup, etc), and if so removes it and adds it to "your hand"(available skills, combat menu).

As you can see, it's already starting to get complicated, but I believe if you put enough effort into it, you'll be able to make this system. You should also browse for plugins that currently exist, as you might be able to use them to further enhance your Eventing. I know that the Conditional Branch Plus plug-in by @mjshi is a lifesaver when it comes to eventing something large and complex. Best of luck to you!

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
