I am currently making a Sci-Fi themed game which involves flying between celestial bodies, which means I need a tileset that has celestial bodies for the "field" part of the game. However, I've looked all over the internet and I can't find tilesets that contain them. My request is a tileset in the style of RPG Maker VX Ace that contains the following:

-Life-Supporting Planets

-Barren Planets

-Gas Giants

-Stars

-Nebulae

-Asteroids

Any help will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Why not use parallaxes for the celestial bodies? They will be on the background right? at least until someone can make these...

Actually, the celestial bodies would be used as "warp points" to enter areas, not as backgrounds.

They can still look like it I think... You can step on them and you teleport, right? It just might be faster and at least a viable alternative while you are waiting for someone to make these, since tilesets are hard to make...

Hi Phoenix - you need to be much more specific -

Are you looking for 32 by 32 tiles which look like planets to use as travel points on a kind of "world map" equivalent for interplanetary travel?

You say "field" part of the game, but remember we do not know what you are planning.

If not 32 by 32, how big?

And remember that you will be able to add interesting features to a sci-fi map with the only detail available in a 32 by 32 square with a circle in it (trust me it will be somewhat limited) by animating it with glow effects or swirling gas animations or whatever.

But really, please can you be more specific? Thanks.

The celestial bodies would be best if they were 5x5 squares in size, and extra effects aren't necessary. But yes, they are supposed to be in the equivalent of the "World Map"

Honestly, 8pixel x 8pixel blocks might be your best bet. It *should* give you more freedom to create the shapes of the planetoid/asteroids you are needing. I don't know though since I have never tried to really make my own tileset, though I plan to for a school project.

this animation sheet has planets in a four by four tile size.

I am posting this as an example.

Is this what would help you?

AT that size GIMP brushes are available to make them pretty easily - like this:

What are the usage guidelines for those planets on the Photobucket page? I could VERY MUCH USE THOSE for my Contest Game!

Are there anything else like those available?  Those are GREAT, but they're all kind of samey-other planet types, sizes, things like that would be AWESOME.

But yeah, main point is, what/how can I use those in my game?

The first image is an animation sheet from a game called Tears of Reality by SuperGodJesus.

The second is a tool for image editing.

OK, so the planets posted are a no-go for a commercial game then, would need to use the brushes and make my own.  Got it.  Thanks for the prompt reply, and thanks kindly for the links in the first place!

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:
Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
