Hey everyone. So you know how there are three types of attacks, magic, physical and certain? Well I have a character that is able to negate all attacks for one turn. It works against physical and magic attacks but attacks marked with the certain hit category will still do damage to him. I was wondering if there was a way to have it so that certain hit attacks woild be treated as physical/magic attacks. Thank you :)

Flag the certain hit attacks as their own element type (make up a name for it, it can be Foobar for all it matters), then make it so that this character has an element rate of 0% to that element when he negates attacks for one turn.

You could make the physical or magical damage rate an explicit part of your damage formula:
(4 * a.atk - 2 * b.def) * b.pdr

What are you using "certain hit" attacks for in the first place?

Edit: A bit too slow, bgillisps suggestion should do as well.

Why not just give him a state with 100% Evasion and 100% Magic Evasion for that one turn?

I want these specific moves to not miss at all, these moves take a while to charge up TP so I don't want a missed turn. Also, Im using Battle engine symphony and for some moves that hit all foes it repeats the animation for each character when I only want it shown once. When I put it under certain hit this issue gets fixed.
