Certain songs wont play?

I have tried

Putting them in via VX ACE
REputting them in via VX ACE
Putting them in my games folder

And half of the songs wont play in the sound test.

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Have you tried converting them to Ogg via an online converter?

we can't give you a reason without getting a link to the problematic files, but most probably they are done with the wrong codec settings - Ace does not support every codec used for audio files, they have to be using one of the more common codecs to be playable.
(and yes, recoding them with a converter usually helps unless the converter is set to an exotic codec as well)

Two issues I can think of is the file name and the length of the song. The file name, especially if it's in other languages like Japanese into English, might not read properly into the maker. The length means a longer loading time, which might look like it's not playing at all.

But Andar's correct that a converter or music editor would make the file playable. I had this problem before, but used an editor to shorten the song and export to MP3.

They are all english, I don;t quite speak japanese.

It's better
