STB received an update a few months ago that fixed the force action/instant cast issues, I think? http://yanfly.moe/2018/09/28/battle-system-stb-bug-fix-update-and-comparing-battle-systems/

If it comes right down to it, you can event the desired sequences yourself:
  • Pictures for user feedback/interface;
  • Loops, branches and variables/switches to track input;
  • Action sequence to start the input mid-skill;
  • Conditions/variables in the damage formula or action sequence to impact the skill output.
It's certainly not an efficient way of going about things (probably lags horribly on mobile, I haven't tried), and it does require quite a bit of work and logic/eventing proficiency, but it's serviceable and gives you almost complete control over what kind of input you want. In case you're interested, I have an example on the Steam Workshop: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1287577261

All that said, @Astfgl66's plugin looks fantastic.

Marijn Haverbeke wrote in his book, Eloquent Javascript:
The idea of writing a program is to make something less work, not more.
Of course, he also said:
You’re building your own maze, in a way, and you might just get lost in it.
But then he went and said:
A program is a building of thought. It is costless to build, it is weightless, and it grows easily under our typing hands.
As for the aforementioned plugin, while it looks great, there are so many steps to installation not mentioned within its own plugins' internal documentation, and there are numerous errors when attempting to implement it even as outlined in the examples given earlier in the thread, such as only one skill from a given array being usable, or a skill only being selected once but playing twice. It's unpredictable.

What you're describing isn't expected behaviour, and it's also behaviour I'm not able to reproduce, having used the plugin extensively for my own projects. The whole array of skills in my projects can play out and selected skills don't play twice.
So : either you're using it wrong, you're not understanding how it works, or it's an indeed a bug.
I'm available to help you understand how it works, or to fix bugs if there indeed are.

I'd also like to know what steps I haven't mentionned in my documentation. Maybe the one where you need to specifically name it, but it's in the thread and it's also a default behaviour of the engine for all plugins, not only mine.

Sharing your experience with using it would allow me to improve documentation for parts that need it and clear issues for future users. I'd appreciate it. It might even result in a plugin you can use to make your project, which is the desired result.
I wrote that plugin, so for me the documentation is perfect and I can understand everything about using the plugin with it. It's obvious that for people who don't know programming and haven't written it it won't be perfect, and you can help:
Pointing me to what you don't understand is the best way to improve things, for me, you and everyone.
I reiterate about you writing me a PM with your issues so I can help you out without derailing this thread further.

Well I'd hope I'm using it "wrong" so that there's promise to the script working as intended when inserted alongside other common modular scripts.

The problem with leaving certain steps in the forums only is that forums are disorganized, difficult to search, easily if not instantaneously cluttered, and ideally all information can easily be put into one place. They're still the only two scripts that I know of which require specific file names. Do they also need to be two separate scripts, just to display another window with available skill options during battle?

I commend you for your offer to help work it out--it demonstrates leagues of professionalism where other scripters have simply grown bored of MV after just a few years of the program being out. I still would like to see any and all scripts pertaining to this requests functionality listed here, but I still thank you for your help.

@GreenBanana Found this on google,
isn't this what you want, at 00:17
No, those are SumRndmDde's skill input plugins.

The plugin I'm looking for would allow a player character to choose from multiple skills to chain or combo to while using a skill. One skill could branch into multiple other skills.
