Change Built-in Message Title-Link to a Scene

Introduction
You just created that awesome Action-Based Title Screen in VNMaker but you have a problem. You are using the Built-In Message UI and you realize in horror that when you press it, it goes to the Scripted Title Screen! This tutorial is to teach you how to change that!

The Tutorial
  • In Scripts tab, go to in Layouts > Templates > Template_MessageBoxMenu.
  • Copy the old Script
  • Paste it in a New Folder just above main. This is so if the software updates, it won't overwrite your changes.
  • Around line 84 you will find a line like this:

"acceptActions": [{"name":"exitGame"},{"name": "switchLayout", "params": { "name": "titleLayout" } }]

You need to do the following:
  • Change "switchLayout" into "switchGameScene"
  • Change "titleLayout" into your Scene name, for example.

The code should look like this:

"acceptActions": [{"name":"exitGame"},{"name": "switchGameScene", "params": { "name": "Title Scene" } }] ,

By the end it should look something like this!

And that's it! Easy peasy!
Of course, there's a better way to do this too, but I'll update this tutorial once I brush up on my VNMaker knowledge.

はじめに

あなたはラノゲツクールを使って、アクションたっぷりの素晴らしいタイトルスクリーンを作りました!しかしここで問題が一つ…デフォルトのメッセージUIでは、「タイトル」ボタンを押すと、スクリプトされたタイトル画面に戻ってしまうのです。このチュートリアルでは、その処理の変更方法を解説しています。

チュートリアル

● スクリプトタブから「Layouts > Templates > Template_MessageBoxMenu」と進みます
● 現在のスクリプトをコピーします
● それを「Main」の上に作った新たなフォルダー内にペーストしてください。そうすることで、アップデートがあった際に上書きされることを防ぐことができます
● 84行目付近に以下のようなコードが見られるはずです

以下の手順に従います:

● "switchLayout" を "switchGameScene" に変更

以上、思ったより簡単でしょう?

もちろんこれ以外にも方法はありますが、それはラノゲツクールMVについてもう少し研究してからアップデートしたいと思います。

Making his first game
This scene was suppose to be a test... but now, it's going in the game as official side/optional content. :kaosalute:


functionality(This is function demo not game demo)
1 The door of ABS map can open upon clearing all the monsters
2 Secret room/road arrow/lighting/whatever others can be shown upon clearing too
3 Boss HP bar and loot effect, loot jump and item name color as well as the pick-up animation effect
4 Back to town and "victory aftermath" screen for ABS maps/rooms
Playing one of the two RM2k3 games I was best known for back in the day, one I made in the Spring semester of my Freshmen year in college like 15 years ago, feeling all kinds of ways about it. I have not played this game in WELL over 10 years. I feel a million years old RN.
