Just as the title says I would like to change the language used in RPG Maker MV, because I prefer to use the english one instead of the german translation.

Is there a process for changing the language in Ace?  If you have a bit of a search around for that, the same technique might apply.

Has anyone found an answer for this? :/

Not only the program itself is in a language I don't want it to be, but the whole database is created in that language too... it's a mess...

Did you read my post above yours?  Did you do what I suggested there?

In Ace you could just rename the language files so it will load a different one. Already tried that too with files that have something to do with languages used but nothing changed.

Yes, I've been messing around with locale files as well, but nothing happened...

I found a temporary fix until someone found a way to do this without changing the region of the computer:

- Go into your control Panel

- Click on Region and Language

- Change Format to Englsh (United Kingdom)

If anyone manages to do the same with just renaming/editing something inside the RMMV folder, then it would be nice if he/she could share it here.

Well, that's better than nothing. Thanks for sharing that! :D

I'm still surprised they didn't make the language an option you can change. Oh well...

Yep, this will probably find a solution soon. Hope so. Spanish translations from japanese have always been the most horrible thing to read.

Oh my god! -.- Please tell me there's a way to change the language without changing the language of the whole system.

This issue really needs to be sorted. In most programs nowdays, end users always have the option. I am not sure how the devs of RPG Maker MV could leave such a standard option out.

This solution only changes the language of rpg maker mv software but not the name of the items stored in the database of the project.

So, if you are working on a project created before changing the region of the computer, the game text will be in your original language and not in English.

So what I suggest you doing at the moment before they fix this language issue is replacing the js files (Actors.js, Animations.js, ... ) in the data folder of your project

with the one from the original NewData folder of the program (C:\Programs\KADOKAWA\RPGMV\NewData\data) that are in English.

Changing the terms is the easiest part to change since you just need to move .json files containing the english terms to your project. Atm I'm trying to figure out how to keep the engine itself in a language of my choice without changing the region settings of the pc. (Just 50 minutes until steam release, might be lucky and find out how to do it as long as it works like it did with Ace)

Can't you just pick an English option when you install MV? I remember installer showed me all 7 language which basically supported

I am sure there will be something soon, not sure what, but MV is supposed to offer multi-language support. Not just for us, but also to many, many Japanese developers who would like to sell their work international. That means also games that once created should offer multi-language support, not just the editor. As far as I remember that was one of the big features beside multiple device support and high resolutions.

So I would give it a bit time, test around all the new features, and check back often, this will get changed soon

That just for the installing process. In the end the engine will use your systems default language if there's a language file (even though I don't know where the one for the engine is hidden). If there's none it will use the default (English) text for the engine.

I picked english at the install screen, but when I opened everything was in spanish. So it must be detecting the system language and using that one, which shouldn't happen.
