Change Language

Just checked the steam version and unlike in Ace you can't choose a language :I

The only fix until we get something from Degica/Enterbrain will be the following (even though a native "select language" would be way better):

I found a temporary fix until someone found a way to do this without changing the region of the computer:

- Go into your control Panel

- Click on Region and Language

- Change Format to Englsh (United Kingdom)

I really, really want an option to change the Editor language. Personally, I find it even kinda of insulting when software developers assume that we can only speak our default system language.

Kinda silly that we need such a workaround meanwhile.

I think Alessio's method is the best for now.

For now I will do the following things to work in English

1. create a new project in MV and close the editor.

2. copy the english json files into your newly created project:

2.a.

C:\Programs\KADOKAWA\RPGMV\NewData\data\ -> Project1\data\

(On Steam its: Steamlibraray\steamapps\common\RPG Maker MV\NewData\data\)

3. save this base project folder somewhere

now to create a new project just make a copy of this project folder, rename it and double click Game.rpgproject...

Yeah even worst when they translate your language with a poor translator software and words don't make any sense. Also they should know most of us are used to read english. It's hard to find things in other languages.

Some people aren't that fluent in english so it's nice for them to have it in their mother tongue (even if it has translation mistakes). The only problem is when they try to find help but don't know the english definition of something because they use another language.

Not only do I have to "play around" with this once wonderful Software (RPG Maker 2000) in Portuguese, but I have to use it in a Portuguese not from my country, Portugal.

RPG Maker MV in PT BR ? Really ?...

Apologies for having to use Brazilian Portuguese at this time. To be honest, the Brazilian RM community is HUGE and that is why our Portuguese translation is based on that.

I do hope to have this resolved quickly though, so everyone can change to the language they want.

Guys, this is really dumb. I have to be honest. Not only the russian translation kinda sucks, you can't change it in any meaningful way, and there is a deadly glitch that prevents changing some numerical values bundled with it. Many of my russian friends have same problem. There have to be a better way than those above. I mean come on, why did you even do that?

Yes, this actually works...for terms not for the interface ! I'm stuck with Brazilian Portuguese while been Portuguese.

If anyone manages to do the same with just renaming/editing something inside the RMMV folder, then it would be nice if he/she could share it here.

Hey great I was actually going to call you a moron because you writhed that 4 or 5 times in this same post and it was obvious that I already tested that. Just noticed I might been looking on the wrong place since you said "control panel" and I was using what I thought it was pretty much the same "PC Settings" at the win 8.1 tiles screen. So the hat now fits me and I will swallow and apologize =) My apologies buddy (=  BD

Created a shortcut to "Region" right near the RPG Maker MV one. Just a thought.

BTW, the PT-BR translation is pretty bad. I would be glad to help you guys in the translation if so you want.

I want to use RMMV in english aswell. The german translation is... I don't know, I'm not comfort with all those event terms in german, when I used RPG-Maker since version 2k in english...

Just to add, Spanish translation is so-so. Some things are literal translations which don't sound good at all or are difficult to understand.

I have to agree with this, the spanish translation is not good. Hopefully they'll add the option to let us choose what language to use.
