Change level to military rank

My game has a big military influence to it so i was thinking to enhance this, I could change the classic number for a character's level, it would be changed to a military rank ranging from Conscript to Field Marshal. But i'm not sure where to start with this one, i guess a small plugin is needed to change the level int into a string? Is there already a plugin out there that can do this or a way do this through eventing?

You could change level to Rank in the terms settings, than you could change the nickname has he ranked up
