I'm currently working on a game and have run into a problem that will be unavoidable to ignore in the future. The collision for characters in RPG Maker encompasses the hole sprite or the 32x32 area, I'm looking for a script or a way to change the area for collision detection in sprites.

I should probably mention as well my purpose for this is because I'm using a free movement script, this one to be exact.

If I am not mistaken the script you are using already provides you a way to change the way collisions happen. Read instructions carefully. You should be able to change it using notetags.

EDIT: I didn't even check the link because I worked on an add-on for that script recently so I was quite sure but man...you didn't even read the thread properly...the link you provided has instructions written right there...they are quite visible too. Did you just copy/paste it without even reading the thread?

Script instructions are there for you to read and understand them. If you just copy/paste a script without reading instructions you cannot possibly understand how it works and more and more issue are bound to appear.

Never forget to read script instructions. You might even find known compatibility issues just by reading them. Not only are they very helpful in setting up the script, they are also incredibly helpful when it comes to picking other scripts.

Yeah, I was watching a tutorial on how to use the script and copy and pasted it without reading the instructions because I assumed the video explained all of the uses, but I guess not. Thanks for the reply anyway but I figured it out almost immediately after posting.

@BuzzGaming57 Even if the video had explained all the uses, you still need to read the instructions because most scripts require you to do some configuring, even if it is only selecting which switch(es) to use.

And while video tutorials can be extremely useful, nothing beats sitting down and examining the script for yourself as well.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
