EDIT: I just realized that this whole issue stemmed from a really big dumb moment I had. I didn't even realize that changing the parameter was actually increasing the Max HP, not decreasing it. Sometimes I have these moments that make me question my brain pattern.
The advice about changing the parameter actually did work and I was too much of a moron to notice.

I don't blame you guys for possibly being annoyed at my stupidity. If you aren't annoyed, then you're all amazing. Thank you for your patience, I really appreciate it.

In the game I am currently making, you can enter secret holes underground and interact with a fairy who will give you certain boosts (i.e. boost max hp/mp, teach you a new skill). It's kinda inspired by the Zelda games. I already know how to add magic tutors to the game, but I have no idea how to give party members a max hp/mp boost outside of battle. I tried looking elsewhere but have had no such luck.

Is it even possible to do this? If so, then how?

Under the actor’s tab is an option called “Change Hp” that may be what you’re looking for. I know you can use it to heal a party memeber, but I’m not sure about raising it to a higher value. Additionally in the same tab are the "Change Level” and “Change” Exp options. There is also “Recover” which will restore the character back to perfect Health.

I’m using Ace, but from what I remember the interface in Mv wasn’t too different, so they should all still be together

I hope this helps.

would the "change parameter" setting in the actor's option tab also work to give a permanent boosts to one of the base stats max hp,mp etc. here's some images if it helps you any.
best of luck on your project.

I tried that, and it just makes my party's health decrease by 1000.

2 things would/could have gone wrong there either a simple miss click of the parameter feature setting it to whole party rather than an individual member ( altho that doesn't matter if the event is a party booster) or its counted as set Max HP to 100,rather than 1100.ill bang up a quick event and run through it to see how it pan's out then link some images of the single and party parameter buffer for you.

EDIT: It Seemed to work perfectly on my side here's how I've set it up if it helps you any.the first 2 images are the event itself the 3 is the actor/party's base stats the others are how it changed my parameters in game.

I'm gonna be honest, I understand nothing of what you're talking about here. I've done everything exactly as its been shown in the images, but its still taking off HP instead of adding it to the max HP stat.

And I will be changing the text so that it says the stat increased by 500, but 1000.

Do you have any plugins installed? If so could you post a screen shoot of them. Your problen could be a plugin messing with how your events are working.

i agree with @Zarsla ,other than that all i can think of is it could be a core issue but i severely doubt that's the case i presume page 2 after self switch is the fairy restoring health to your party?

Yes it is. After she increases their Max HP she heals their HP and MP like in an inn.

I don't see anything wrong in those screenshots, it's doing exactly what you showed us in the event page.

In Image 1, the HP is 1615 and the Max HP is 1615.
In Image 2, the HP is 1615 and the Max HP is 2115.

The Max HP has increased by 500.
The HP has neither increased nor decreased.

What do you mean by this?
I tried that, and it just makes my party's health decrease by 1000.

You actually did help. I wouldn't have known to change the parameter otherwise.

Ah, I see what you mean.
Since the HP isn't full anymore, it looks like they lost some HP, I totally get how it would look like that to a player also. I could see a player getting kinda frustrated at that too (like thanks fairy, but now I have to drink a potion to get to full health??)

Maybe also throw in a 'Recover All' command when the fairy increases your Max HP? They do that in the Zelda games too.

That's actually a pretty good idea. Thanks for the advice. I'll do that. And yeah, its very misleading. I honestly thought the party lost health instead of gained it because the bar was down.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
