Hey I was wondering what can be done (in game design, not how-to-do) to change the parameters and the level outside of battle? I know that you can use "Grow" in item and skill effects. But I mean the Event Commands at the Actor category. I mean with or without scripts, especially without scripts. I know you can choose to give points to any stat with a script. But what about without script like it was programmed? Can you make a game that earns you experience points and such without scripts? Thanks in advance.

of course - any check on the event commands will show you that.
there are event commands to change almost everything on an actor, and that includes for example the "change EXP" command - and it is considered standard to use that to give extra EXP for completing quests and similar occasions that have nothing to do with battles.

Ok EXP for completing quests. Please give me more examples guys. Also why would you want to increase specific parameters like attack or agility? How would this work?

There are many possible use cases for the command. What comes to mind straight away is flashback sequences where you would want the character to have different stats, reflecting that they were a less experienced person back then, then change the stats back to what the player has earned as soon as the flashback is over. But you could think of many others.

You can throw variables into the skill formulas themselves! And the skills themselves can even use common events!

Oh sweet lord of darkness there is so much game make that can be made from those two pieces of information. So much!

Good day human.

another nice way than default, if that you can create your player
in a different way (high def, low attack, longer battles),
high attack, low def, faster battles, but also a high chance to die in battle
due low defense.

you can creat one with massive HP or if you have a party, 1 as a tanker.
but it can give you control how you build your actor if you do it manually.
