Changing the attack message

Hi, I'm new to the forums, and hopefully I'm posting this in the right place.

I just have a simple question: Is there somewhere I can edit the battle text on attack?  What I mean is when I'm in a battle, say there are a number of enemies and one attacks, it will show "enemy A attacks" or "enemy B attacks".  I would like to get rid of the A and B because I think they're pretty ugly.  I can trace programming code, so adding scripts isn't a big issue.  I just don't want to go trace the whole system to figure it out if I don't have to.

Look for this sentence and edit accordingly:

add_text(subject.name + item.message1)In this case it should be removing the "subject.name +" part. That would leave the skill usage message only "so you could go for something like a chant ("Hours of darkness, the might of corruption and void, my foes will succumb to your power"), or just the skill name (Bee sting of doom).

Anyway, hope it is the thing you wanted, salut,

That's not exactly what I'm looking for.  It helps a bit, but I'm looking to change it so that the subject.name doesn't include the A, B, C, etc. for multiple monster battles.  For example, I want it to say "dog bites pandamoose" as opposed to "dogA bites pandamoose"

Ah, now I get what you want. Well, you can disable the "unique names" completely (that letter being added to the end of repeated enemies), just by commenting/removing this line in Game_Troop:

make_unique_namesThere are also two more lines like that one in Game_Interpreter. You can do the same for those two.

Thanks, that fixed it.  I was looking all over battlers and enemy and couldn't find anything to fix it.  Didn't think to look in troop

so hopefully tomorrow i get to go home from the hospital i've been here for 5 days already and it's driving me mad. I miss my family like crazy but at least I get to use my own toiletries and my own clothes. My mom is coming to visit soon i can't wait to see her cause i miss her the most. :kaojoy:

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
