Hello RPG maker community! It's been a while since i've been on these forums, but now I need help with something that i'm not sure how to do.

I want to make a character animation, like for example, the sprite getting out of bed.
Is there a way to do that? Oh, and I need help with flashing windows as well, for example is it's raining outside and the lightning makes the windows flash.

Is there a script I can use for either? Thank you! <3

1) any sprite is automatically animated - but only with a 3-frame-animation, that is probably not enough to make a fluent animation of someone lying, then sitting, then standing.

You'll either have to use a number of pictures or changing sprites several times - or simply change the sprite from down to standing while moving it to the place beside the bed.

2) For flashing windows, I would make the windows as sprites and use events instead of tiles for them - 3 frames should be enough to simulate flashing windows (2 parts black, one part flash (best not to use the middle one for flash)

for screen-flashing, all you need is eventing - no need to go scripting.

If the regular animation doesn't work for the windows, use Tsukihime's tile swap script for that.

You could probably do a getting out of bed animation in 4 frames, and if that's enough, just have a look at how doors are set up in spritesheets (single column, animations go down a column rather than across a row) and how they're used in events (make a quick event and look at the move route)

I'm not sure, but I believe Modern Algebra prefers people link to the original thread, rather than paste the script around (a lot of scripters do), so I've replaced the script in your post above with a link to where it originally came from.

Okie doke.  Guess it's best to play it safe.

Not sure why he would mind though.  I made sure to include in the script his name at the top as the Author.

It's not only credits - scripters who do this want every bug report in the original topic so that they don't have to search the web for those or for praises etc.

Fair enough.

I was just trying to be useful.  I wasn't trying to piss off any scripters.

You're not :)

The main reason (from my own point of view) is to have control over every version of source that's out there. So if there's only one version, and everyone else links back to it, it's easy to control. If a bug is found or they do an update, and the only version is the one they originally posted, then they can post the fix/update and it'll be available to everyone. But if there are dozens of versions because people have copied & pasted and not linked back to the original, the author can't update those copies (they either don't know about them, or don't have the ability to update them), and people who have used those copies don't know about the updates, or where to go to SEE if there are any updates. So copies will quickly become out of date and unsupported by the author.

I know I prefer people to either link to my script threads here, or to my blog, and if they have issues with them, to post in the threads here. It's much easier for me to support those people then, answering their questions and getting fixes to them.

Makes sense.

I'll just start compiling a list of direct links I can use for now on instead of just note-tagging scripts.

Couple hours of work. Might use in my game as a secret find or something. Not sure. Fancy though no? :D
Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
Do you Find Tilesetting or Looking for Tilesets/Plugins more fun? Personally I like making my tileset for my Game (Cretaceous Park TM) xD
