Hello everyone, i just joined today after being away from rpg maker for years. I used to play around with the old rm2k3 back in the day and i wanted to create something with the same graphics using a modern maker, however the process is quite long and tedious to adapt all characters and tilesets to lets say rpg maker mv. So a few weeks ago i started developing a software that does all that for me, i've put only a few days of work total in it and is far from done, the idead is to save me a bunch of time to convert all the resources i need. I have a lot of irl stuff to do so i could only work on it for a week on my free time and i don't know if i'll even finish it. The state of the software right now: - Only works for characters. - Only avaiable as cli. - Scales resources to modern maker standards. - Converts old rm2k3 charset structure to the vx/mv structure(down, left, right, up). - Cuts a character spritesheet to individual sprites and vice-versa. What to do next: - Add transparency to single color background. - Add a visual UI with tkinter. - Convert all kinds of resources(tilesets, battlers, etc..). There's the github page, If you want to compile it and run it yourself make sure you have python 3 with pip, setuptools and pillow packages installed , open the command prompt, and type Python Processor.py -help to learn how to use it. https://github.com/Brocoio123/2k-char-processor This project is still pretty barebones, if i actually continue working on it and add more features, i'll update this thread so its actually decent with screens and stuff. Thats the idea, should i continue working on it? Is this something that would be useful for other people today?
