Hello! So I'm starting to make a small game in my free time for the heck of it, and it's my first time working with any sort of RPG-Maker (Thankfully the MV I'm using right now is very easy to use for now). I've made it so that the player can choose between a male/female protagonist, and I want to make it so that the respective character's picture shows with their dialogue. However, I've yet to find the method of implementing it, or confirming if it's even possible. For now, since I just started, I made two different copies of the maps where there would be dialogue between the main protagonist and the NPCs, but I wanted to know if there's a more efficient method where I can have the image of the dialogue change depending on the first party member. Thank you in advance!

If you talk about windowskin, you can use the plugin tha come with the rpg maker. Or it is in default folder or in dlc folder.
WindowChange.js something like that.
Its very simple.

Alright, I'll try looking for it and using it. Is it hard to implement, or is it straightforward

Its very simple. Call a plugin command:
WindowChange nameofthewindowfile

Something like that.

I think @Chiclipse is talking about the character faces in the dialogue box, not the windowskin.
In this case I would suggest using Yanfly's message plugin, were you could use the textcode:
Code:
\af[x]
To display actor x's face in the message.
Yeah that's what I was asking about, I'll try that plugin as well, both still helped since I have basically nothing except for the regular set of data ^^

Does this plugin work for regular RPG Maker MV, or do I need Ace for this particular one? I'm not familiar with any of the versions so....

This plugin is made for RPG Maker MV.
It should not need any other plugins to work, check out its help file for more text codes and information.

The only problem is that the above plugin doesn't allow for different expressions.
You could(possibly) use the Extended Message Pack 1 extension plugin(requires message core plugin which I mentioned earlier) and use this textcode:
Code:
\faceindex[x]
However! I have not tested this out myself and therefore am not completely sure it works.

By the way, how do I implement these plugins as a .js file? I'm a stranger to JS and most other forms of coding, so I lack the knowledge as to how to make that block of text a .js file...

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such? No-one c
