Ok, at the beginning of the game, I allow the player to choose their name, and whether they want a female or male character. At first I just used the graphics that came with the game. And the game worked fine. But I just decided to go in and Create a new male and female character using the character generator. Then I used those graphics to create 2 new actors. From which the player would then play as, depending on which gender they chose. The problem is, however, that they don't show up in game.

BTW I checked whether transparency was off, and it was. Here's the script (if it helps you):Capture2.PNG

Please show a screenshot of your Actors tab.

Did you actually add those actors to your party?

If I remember correctly there is a known issue happening when you start the game with unnamed actors. Give them a name and let the player change it when picking a name and see if that is your case. If not then we have to see your actor and system tab.

Ok, so I added names just to see if that fixed it and it didn't. And I also tried adding them to the party, but that just gave me whoever I picked as the main character, and the other one would follow me. But the controls were acting really weird. I also thought that the command I gave, "Change Actor Graphic" simply changed the way Actor 1 looked, and didn't actually change actors. Anyways, I still haven't been able to figure it out, so here's the Actor tab: I hope it helps.male.PNG Female.PNG

Please give actors 1-3 a name, then go to the System tab and see if all 4 of your first actors turn up there in Starting Party. If they do, delete the ones that you don't want from the System tab.

The way to remove members from your starting party is NOT to delete them from the Actor tab, because then you will end up with "blank" actors in your party. The correct way is to delete them from the Starting Party in the System tab.

Change Actor Graphic did exactly what it's meant to do. It changes the sprite of the actor you choose (in this case, actor 1).

Yeah, I know, But I deleted the names in advance so that when the player chose names, they wouldn't have to erase preexisting ones. Although I still gave actors 1-3 names just to check if they came up under my initial party, and they didn't. No one is in my initial party other than Actor 1.

EDIT: Ok, so I did some testing, first I took two of the original sprites and put them in place of actor 11 and 12. That didn't change anything. So instead, I decided to Take the new graphics, and put them in for one of the original 10 actors. And it still didn't work. So, Just for ****s a giggles, I reverted everything back to the way it was before I had any problems. Using RPG Maker original actors, and Sprites. And for some reason, that won't work anymore either. So I have not a single clue what do to, other than maybe deleting the event, and rewriting it. Maybe I caused a glitch somehow, Idk. Although it's not a very big event. I still would like some more advice from the pros. -Thanks

I'd give them all names, then remove them right at the end. That way there's no confusion about what you're doing when you're making the game (and when you ask for help, we're not confused about what you're doing either).

You can zip up your project and load it up to dropbox or something, and post the link. Someone might be able to take a look at it for you.

Good Idea, I'll try to do that tomorrow, or rather, later today as it's 1 am lol.

The problem with the names of the actors is not that they are bugged, but that you'll never know which actor is currently selected in the event commands, especially if you have several unnamed actors.

As for your second problem that is most likely a misunderstanding of how the change actor graphics command works. It requires three steps.

1) select in the dropdown menu which actor to change graphics for.
That is where the name is critical, you can only guess which actor you're changing if you don't have names.

Now you see that actors default face and sprite in the window.
2) doubleclick on the face and select the new face that the actor should have after the command.
3) doubleclick on the sprite and select the new sprites the actor should have in the future.

If you do not doubleclick on the pictures, the command will not change anything.
If you selected the wrong actor, the change will go to that wrong actor - easy to happens without names to identify the actors

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
