Hiya!
Name's TimeParadox, and I have a question/request for you.

My friends and I have been working on a game for a few weeks now, and we just got into the process of making the actual game (after we worked out some combat ideas and whatnot).

We all know our ways around RPG Maker VX Ace very well, but there is one thing we seem to not be that good at, and that is scripting.

Open the spoiler below to get the full request.

We're trying to find a script that will enable us to use the CHARACTER PILLARS.
What I mean by this is essentially, throughout the game, your actions will effect either the rising or falling of your pillars.

^^^^^ Those guys right there ^^^^^

However, we wouldn't really want citizenship in there?
Perhaps if someone were to actually get around to writing the script (which would be awesome), they could make it to where you can enable this guy, and disable this guy.

But, essentially, your actions effect how the pillars rise/fall, and the status of your pillars at the end of the game decide what kind of ending you get.

So say you go the entire game and you decide to do nothing but be a bad guy and just kill people and things that don't deserve to be killed. Then there's a very good chance that your pillars would fall down onto the negative end. For instance, respect, when it falls under the line, turns into disrespect, responsibility would turn into irresponsibility, and so forth.

The end of the game would have a judgement period, and you would be judged based on you decided to go forth building/destroying your pillars.

Thinking back on it, this could probably be done with variables maybe, but I wanted to take it a step further. I want to have a visual representation of the pillars. Everything you do in the game effects it in real time, y'feel me?

If you can help me, I would be eternally grateful!

Please do not make polls asking if your request is "a neat idea".

I actually do think it's neat, and might be interested in doing this for you. It would be quite easy to link it to variables that you can adjust during the game.

Is it one set of pillars for the whole party, or does each actor get their own?

I am not an artist - are you going to provide the artwork?

And yeah - your offering to "even add you to the credits of the game" - that's not generosity. It's expected ;)

Yes, a little more courtesy might get your request done faster since it's not something hard to do.

It's similar to the good/chaos script out there, but yours only seems to require a graphic output with variables.

Being weeks old in the developing doesn't really makes you a pro, so it will help you guys to learn more if you can drop that attitude and ask politely. Most script makers here will be more than willing to help a friendly and courteous request than a boastful type.

Hell, I'd even add you to the credits of the game, and make it known that you helped!
You are required to present all resources(sound/font/music/graphic/script) you have used/modified to use in your credit, that's to be expected both in morality and some even on the aspect of law.

However, we wouldn't really want citizenship in there?

Keep your description to the point and try to avoid misunderstanding when you are doing a script request. If it requires a script maker to read your descriptions over and over again and still can't get what you mean, they might simply ignore this post and move on to the next.

That's a picture from this book

This is my first post on these forums, so please forgive me

Oh my jeez, now that I read over that post I realize I could've been a lot more courteous! My apologies there :c

I never really said that we were professionals in using RPG Maker VX Ace, I just said that we all had enough experience from previous games that we've worked on. Sorry 'bout that.

Yes, one set of pillars for the entire party, and yes I would provide the artwork. :3

TimeParadox, please do not bump your topic unless it has been 72 hours later since your last post. You can review our forum rules here. Thank you.

Where are these pillars to be displayed? Do you have a mockup of the screen - is it a new option in the menu, or will you modify the layout of an existing menu?
