My game is based on me and my friends and my friend is deaf so that's going in. HE can speak but not very well. One company called kemco makes text boxes and then uses stars * to define what the character is doing or they use another colour, This is how my deaf friend will work in the game. but no I'm not having him cured because there is nothing to cure, but yes it would provide cool game play ideas.

Not sure if this counts, but one of my characters has something called magic poisoning, which is a side effect of the immense magic power he got. It makes his body very weak and fragile, which means minimal physical strain could easily break a bone, or worse. His body also can't keep working by itself, so he has to keep casting spells on himself to stay alive.

Gameplay-wise, this would mean he has very little hit points, like a typical mage. However, he has found ways to get around his condition using magic.

Magic poisoning is treatable, but his case is far too extreme for conventional treatment. Even if there was a cure, he would need to relinquish some of his power or else the symptoms will come back, and he isn't

willing to that.

Not sure about my favorite disabled video game character...the only one that comes to mind right now is Lee Sin.

Personally, I trying to work with a script that involves characters that each have a different type of mental disorder. This would include things like Autism, ADD, ADHD, or maybe something more extreme like Cerebral Palsy.

I'll say the same thing I said on the LGBT thread, and that's to just stay out of stereotypes. And I'll push that even more so in this thread since using them may seem like you know nothing about the disability in the first place. This isn't just mental disorders either, as it can also apply to physical disabilities as well. For example, don't have all your blind and deaf people by extremely old.

This is my group, minus me and my boyfriend. I have bipolar and PTSD. :p

Cerebral Palsy doesn't have to be extreme either, but it can be.

I'm happy to see that non-physical disabilities are debated here as well. Those seem to get even less spotlight than physical disabilities.
