My last question is about checking data sizes. Under Yanflys forum, it states be sure to check and see if project is 200 MB or higher. If higher could explain the issue with the project. Any idea how I can check the data? Other than go with the development route

Go to the project folder in Windows, right-click on it, select properties and wait until Windows had counted the total size.

However, the critical size depends on what exactly you want and which Maker you're talking about - for example in case of Ace, the RTP alone adds 250MB to the project size if included...

3.14 GB.... well now, this is a bit of an issue. Thanks for telling me this. Seems like I have some cleaning up to do

It looks like you're using a lot of uncompressed files (otherwise 3GB would be an extremely long game), or that you kept non-game files there.

If you need to use encryption (for example if your project contains shop resources), you should get the total filesize down to 2 GB max - but you can trick the encryption by temporarily removing the audiofile (which wouldn't be encrypted anyway) to encrypt the graphic files and then re-add the audios.

Well it is suppose to be a long game, but I wouldn't say it should come close to that much gb's. Should be where you said it's at, unless I put that much detail into it. Is it bad if it's at 3 gb? or over?

Ahhh, I know what happened. I put the majority of update files, resource files, etc into that game, but left them in their original folders. I made a new folder on my 1tb drive and moved all those files into a RPG Maker File for storage. Now it's at 1.93 GB. Time to test it

Now I'm having file missing issues, and I made sure to delete the ones that weren't going to be in the game. I'd figure the game would update itself for every time I save and re load it.

One step can be to get a bulk image editor like Irfanview and use it to export all images as compressed pngs: making sure all layers are collapsed for example. That can take 10mb images down to 0.5mb for me because I use a lot of layers; not sure if that's the case for you.

once all images are compressed the next major issue is music, which you can't do much about other than deleting what you don't need.

Why the 200mb aim though? I remember people saying that same figure about ten years ago and hard drive space increases exponentially.

I know RPG Maker VX was not happy with games above a certain size since it couldn't compress them, but Ace doesn't have that issue (as far as I know) and MV doesn't compress anyway.

Creating an installer for projects bigger than 128 MB would typically fail. (Probably was trying to split the installer up into multiple files of up to 128 MB)

The 200 MB "limit" is just an indicator, nothing more. Lots of people with similar project details have issues, if your project fits those details, maybe you also have some of the same issues.

*hugs*

Hello! I would like to know if there are any pluggings or any way to customize how battles look?
I was thinking that when you start the battle for it to appear the eyes of your characters and opponents sorta like Ace Attorney.
Sadly I don't know how that would be possible so I would be needing help! If you can help me in any way I would really apreciate it!
