I know Chrome complains about RM games a lot, but last time I downloaded the RTP I had no issues. Today Chrome quarantines the file and tells me it will harm my computer! It states 'even if you have downloaded files from this site before, the site may have been hacked'. Anyone else getting this?

It's a false positive on all .exes and most .zip files.

The wording scared me off, I've never had it be that definite before. Usually the smartscreen filter pops up with a "run anyway" thing, now I have to click a button that literally says "hurt me plenty".

Same.  I think Google's updating Chrome in the background somewhere, and it's getting a little annoying for even non-RM stuff.

Chrome always tell me that .zip and .exe are malicious files...

Yeah, it's totally justifiable to get paranoid with wording like that.

Anyone have any idea why Chrome would be so aggressive toward exes/zips (automatically taking action against a clearly willful download instead of a light warning) when a majority of them are still totally productive, innocuous files that are exactly what the user is expecting?

Possibly just being overprotective... At least it's not auto-deleting things like what a lot of Anti viruses do...

Not deleting completely, but the downloaded file does vanish from Downloads unless I click 'restore download' in Chrome. So it's as good as, really.

At least you could "restore" it... Most Anti viruses just delete things completely

I get this quite often too, including the "hurt me plenty" threat. A few times I then tried downloading through IE and no problems; now I quit worrying about it and select the "hurt me" option, as long as I know the site and the source.

I'm willing to bet you're right, considering they no longer allow you to use a lot of the 3rd party plugs and scripts not approved by Google (like the Youtube Center) all because they claim they're looking out for your safety.

Back in action to develop the indie game that has been long overdue... Final Fallacy. A game that keeps on giving! The development never ends as the developer thinks to be the smart cookie by coming back and beginning by saying... "Oh bother, this indie game has been long overdue..." How could one resist such?
