Appears out of nowhere cover whole town everybody going crazy one reason protagonist are not, Charlotte know where is coming from, So up to Kiwi, Zero and Charlotte what causes this mist.​

some reason lack of resistance but still hold up.

what cause of it. She a witch... lack of defend but strong resistance somehow good physical too, she have strong magic sometime she unleash her attack.

Hello, i played your game and i will give you some feedback:




Starting with the things that could be fixed are:

  1. Misha is too hard, is cool that you have to use the skills that come with the character but that skill “repair” is a nightmare for me, could be good just having those boots lees Hp and also when they reappear it said something like 7000 hp but when you use your scanner skill it said 2000.
  2. The battle soundtrack need be louder.
  3. The battle music does not start on the second stage after the first boos.
  4. When you arrival to the second part of the forest you already spend all of your items and also is hard to obtain news, why there is no chest or something similar.
  5. The revival item is infinite and some others does not count really how much they are left.
  6. Could be cools having a tutorial or something that explains well each skill on the characters.
  7. I don’t understand the special abilities that hits all foes, it say that cost 0 tp but seems that I spend like 100 when kiwi used them or maybe just the TP get lose after battle. Sometimes they are active and others not like an attack it can be used certain amount of turns but the problem is that is not explained.
  8. The speech on the second scene has a dialogue that is incomplete.
  9. Is hard to understand the speech logical and keep away the game flow somehow, they could be more accuracy.
  10. The item of recover 200 and 500 does not say what recovers exactly.
  11. About the history could be fine if you start introducing the more of the characters or their goal, is good the start cutscene but it feels almost empty.
Your game is cool, your battlers are awesome, the atmosphere is cool too, the music is fantastic I am kind of impressed with your recording quality =), the battle system is well implemented, the variety of items and attacks and effects make a clever addition to the battle, the cinematic of the special movements are freaking good for me, you know, there is always a difference to the games when you do your own stuff, the characters are well designed, some of the best I seen on the games on RPG maker that I had played, also the cart that interrupt the battle keeps you moving on and make some variation on the exploring. This a demo is pretty well made, I am tuned on when you trying to make the full game, but you know you have a lot of material for a big game, do you imagine if the characters gets their skills one by one and you learn to use them gradually?, you could have a lot of progression with the items and stuff like that.

+100 for a good game, it can become better, the enemies still need some balance with their level in order to reach a good game flow.

she supposed has 6150 hp must be a bug or talking about Flying Bot MAXHP is 2000 'repair' heal full hp even say 7000+.
don't worry fix it up on full games.

 there no main battle theme only field theme and there own boss theme unless didn't play field theme on second stage, put on future.

yeah figured that, kind of unbalance going change that add item bonus after defeat boss, there no chest in the game or shop
enemies will drop item, will put chest and shop in the future.

that special element of series, call 'Mp' type in the game call *type name* user, Kiwi Max for example he force user always start '0' FP in battle always recover each turn, zero max always recover using "KI" fill up anytime Charlotte don't lose her mp she keep it, on full game going have same at Zero Max but to get it, some skill say "0" and still use it that only physical skill will cost Hp to use it, Not MP/FP expect KI will use KI and HP

Thanks most inspired by obscure rpg game and Epic Battle Fantasy Series, mostly the gameplay close element Epic Battle Fantasy 1&2 mix with any element rpg game you like
Kiwi Max 'Mp' type for example it come from Wild Arms Series, other one that have to figured it out, battle system  just simple battle system will evolve in the future,
do have lot of material for a big game for now simple game learning basic stuff and the story I will evolve in the future.
 
for characters just say not involve main story, only involve one characters to learn to about her themselves and know each other(Skit/chat).
 
it support release on february you know life issues going release late march or next month it depends.
 
have notice by now there no level system this game automatic do for you like say if like Epic Battle Fantasy 1&2
don't worry put on future, mostly be strategy them high stats still level up to get HP and stats up lol.

I tried to play your demo.  I play a lot of early project demos, and I think I am a fairly patient person.  This is the first time I have rage quit in years.  Long story short: your game is basically broken.  

Long story long, here are the notes I was typing as I went along.

You have a typo in your title.  Your thread, and the name of the folder is “Chronicles”, the title screen says “Chroniles”.  As this is the very first thing that the player sees, it sets up all sorts of negative expectations.  I suggest you change this and re-upload your demo.  I like the title screen music, though. Nice.

Interesting Title Menu.  I thought I’d look to see what the Music Room was all about.  Trouble is, once I’d got into it, I couldn’t get back out again.  Saying either Yes or No made no difference, and escape key didn’t work either.  I had to close down completely.

‘Continue’ is not greyed out on the menu, which is strange as there is no save file yet for it to load.  You might want to look into that.

Something flashed up with what might have been a word or two and then underneath what might have been 10/10.  Either keep this totally hidden if it is some sort of game mechanism, or allow enough time for the player to see what it is.  Having something flash by too fast to catch is not good.

And I quote from the first cut scene:

“Your luckly charyl. Your abilitie is a different types them my brother.”

This should read

“You’re lucky Charyl. Your ability is a different type than my brother’s.”  [OR …Your ability is different from my brother’s.]

That’s 7 errors in 2 tiny sentences.  It goes on at that standard throughout.  At times it was almost impossible to understand.  I know it says in your avatar info that English is your first language, but it doesn’t read that way.  I strongly urge you to find someone to proofread your dialogue.

The walking speed is incredibly slow.  Why have you slowed it down this much?  Holding down shift to dash only brings it up to about the default walking speed.

I have just had the first battle.  I discover that I have a huge number of skills, some of which are completely incomprehensible.  Take the one which restores Ki to Zero.  What is Ki?  Why should I want it to return to zero?  Skills cost HP, but as I don’t know how long I have to make my healing items last I am reluctant to use my HP – I need it for the battles – so these skills are useless to me.  You know how long this dungeon is, and how long it will be before I can replenish my supplies, but the player cannot know this.  Because you have decided that FP must restart at zero each time (why? It makes no sense!) I would lose 20-35% of my HP just on one skill.  No chance.  And MP is zero?????? That makes even less sense. 

Instant Camera says that it “Take pictures damage ghost and other thing”.  This makes no sense.  Is taking pictures and damaging a ghost two separate actions, or does taking a picture damage a ghost? And what does “and other thing” mean?  These are just a few examples of the lack of clarity in your skills.

The wolves took 9 turns to defeat.  For the very first battle that is ridiculous.  Your first battles should be simple and straightforward so that the player can learn your battle system and any necessary mechanics.  All I could do was spam attack, and it looks like the wolf has a couple of thousand HP.  Huh??????  And there are 3 of them.  Then I have 3 plants and 3 green spectres.  Ah heck, I’ve got 2 people poisoned, and only one item which cures it.  By accident I discover that the heal skill also cures poison.  The skill description should tell the player this.  Zero’s Ki is not charging up, so none of his non-zero skills are available, the same for Charlotte, her MP is not charging up.  I cannot use HP because I’m taking so much damage from these 6 enemies that I have none to spare. I now don’t have enough FP for the healing skill, Charlotte is poisoned for the 3rd time and is down to 74HP.  This is getting to be ridiculous.  In desperation I use a skill which hits 4 times at the cost of 25%HP.  The amount of damage is pretty low each hit.  Was it worth it?  Probably not.

Charlotte is now dead.  Both green spectres cast Ice Breath which took a combined HP of about 350HP and the remaining Plant hit her for 120HP.  Only one revive item, and that only gives 40% HP, so she revives with around 250HP, not enough if they do the same again.  They do, but she still had 10HP.  Kiwi can do nothing except heal, heal and heal again.  I still only have skills which use HP and I don’t have HP to spare.  This is beyond ridiculous.  How much HP do those green spectres have?  How much MP did you give them, that they can cast Ice Breath every turn?  Did you play test this ever?

I risk using a bit of Charlotte’s HP – the skill descriptions don’t give me any information about what the skill does, but I try tackle.  It does 57HP damage.  All that at the cost of her own HP.  Not worth it.  These green spectres also seem to have a high evasion rate, as they evade at least 30% of all attacks.  This is getting to be beyond ridiculous.

That battle took 12 minutes.  I’ve played boss fights which don’t last that long, and this is only the second fight, within a few steps of the entrance to the first dungeon.

I try and heal up before the next battle.  I use something called ‘Sweet Drink’ which, according to the Item description “Recover 500”.  I assume HP – wrong, it fills up Kiwi’s FP bar. He doesn’t have 500FP.  What a waste! 

Another battle with 3 plants and spectres.  I saw my gauge went down from Migrant Level 10/10 to 8/10.  As I have had no explanation of what that is all about, the information means nothing to me.  How is the player supposed to know what that means?  You have provided zero information about any aspect of your game, and seem to just expect your player to guess what’s in your mind.  This is not good enough.  Faced with another long drawn out battle I quit, and will not be returning to the game.

Main points

Your dialogue is very badly written.  there are spelling mistakes, grammatical mistakes and sentences which just simply make no sense at all.

Your skill descriptions are inadequate and it looks like your item descriptions are incorrect/inadequate as well.

Your battles are unbalanced and the encounter rate seems high.  3 battles in just 2 very short lengths of path, say 20 steps in all.

You have provided no tutorial about your battle system, your skills system or what this migrant level is all about.  As Ki and MP clearly do not obey any of the normal lRM logic, the total lack of info will seriously affect any player's ability to use their skills.

Having a lot of skills is irrelevant if most of them cannot be used.

There was no story at all.  I have no idea who these people are, where they are going, why they are going there, why they are together, nothing.  You have, therefore, not enabled the player to become interested in them as characters.

The music is nice.

EDIT

Forgot to say that for the battles there was no exp, no drops, nothing.  Is that what you intended?  How does the player afford new supplies?  How, if at all, does the player level up?

Wow I never notice that the title game screen.

highlights Continue it supposed look like that, there a game saving system which save your progress

The health cast based on obscure rpg game, another game does this too, people may know about playing Shin Megami Tensei game plus persona game

Migrant Level exactly work like that in Wild Arms Series (only have this system on Wild Arms 3 and Wild Arms 1 Remade)

Instant Camera may damage ghost and other thing meaning like bug or small thing, The Skill how you use it, some unbalance

fix that later and Zero’s Ki and Charlotte MP example this to Artificer

There are no explorable map this game, just straightforward dungeon

I'm sorry, but most of those answers will not do.  You say that Ki is like Dragon Ball - how do you know your players will know that game?  You reference Artificer as the explanation of other elements - I have never even heard of that game, let alone played it.  You admit that it is based on an obscure game, so you must realise that a lot of players will not know it.  Your job as a developer is to enable people who do not know the reference game to be able to play it.  If Migrant level is an important feature/piece of information simply saying that it's based on an obscure game is ridiculous. You have to make some effort to give this information,  This is a fundamental and essential part of being a game developer.

Nope, this was before the first cut scene, right at the beginning, not an encounter.  I worked out afterwards that it was the Migrant level thing.  Why it should flash up before a cut scene is not obvious,  If it normally is to indicate that an encounter is coming then it is positively misleading for it to be here.

No it's not like any other rpg game.  She starts with zero MP and stays at zero MP.  That is like no other MP system I have ever seen.  Her MP skills can never be used.  Trust me, that is not like other rpg games.  You probably have a bug there if no MP is showing, so you should fix it.

I did not skip the cut scene, as you would have realised if you had read my post properly because I specifically quote from the dialogue in that cut scene.  Yes, it tells me that skills cost HP, but very little else, and it only tells me this if I read each bit of dialogue more than once to work out what the hell is being said, because the English is so poor - as is the English in your reply, which at times is literally incomprehensible.  There are things in your answer which I cannot understand even though I have read them several times.

I did also read the one skit that came up about mushrooms, but it contained nothing that was useful for game play, and if it contained anything enlightening about the characters it was obscured by the poor English.

Did you know this before you put the demo up?  If you did, then you should have corrected them before posting something in public.

the tester say same thing too.

He's not trying to be mean, but if you post something here you should be ready for any sort of criticism, which is usually done to make you aware of the flaws in your work so that you might improve upon them. And in this case he/she felt the problems were severe.

Do you know the shift-click mapping technique? It allows you to copy exact tiles to deal with some of the flaws of the auto-tiles.

In the last screenshot, I can see the carpet tiles break around the tables, which looks strange, so use shift-click on the carpet to change the carpet edge tiles to solid purple carpet tiles so the carpet actually looks like it goes under the tables

this is awesome, going edit TileA2 Block C, purple carpet is Block A, Shift+Clicking got confuse but i got it

Hey, sorry late reply, I know going have criticism but on demo, I okay criticism on full game, the demo kind weird just a demo, also i say going fix the game still criticism plus kind my fault not putting a manual and explain it,

it will tell full story on game release, the demo just for experience like other demo game will do.

kind hard explain on text, not my language just spelling the word, sound better saying the word and writing same, go writing on computers that leave me grammar and error.

Holy stink, where have I been? Well, I started my temporary job this week. So less time to spend on game design... :(
Cartoonier cloud cover that better fits the art style, as well as (slightly) improved blending/fading... fading clouds when there are larger patterns is still somewhat abrupt for some reason.
