Cicero
"Long ago, there lived a benevolent god. This god was worshipped by a small town in the forest. Every day, people from all over the town would take tributes to the god for good fortune, for this was the power the god possessed. One day, a goddess came to the town. 'I want to be worshipped too!' she said, so she bestowed upon the town gifts and made all the young women very beautiful. The townspeople loved her gifts, and soon came to love the new goddess as well. The god of fortune was swiftly forgotten, and its shrine fell to ruin. However, some say that it lives among the town in the guise of a young girl, waiting to be remembered..."
Synopsis
The small forest town where Moira grew up is falling to pieces. Disaster strikes when you least expect it. To ward off the evil, her father sends her to leave an offering to the goddess of the town. This is the last straw for the god Fortunis, who traps all the townspeople in his forest and forces them to play his games to survive. Losing the game makes you lose something much more precious, and the only way to stop the madness is to find his forgotten shrine...Characters
Moira is the playable character. Aged 16 years, she is cheery and trusting, always wanting to protect those around her.Even in grim circumstances, she keeps a smile on her face for the sake of others.
Lavina is a young girl, aged 12 years. She was traveling with her brother in the nearby forest and was pulled into the games without him.Naive and optimistic, she tries to keep by Moira's side through the chaos. Not much else is known about her.
There are many other characters, giving you the option to meet and learn about all the different townspeople. Each has their own unique traits, like Reggie Ertz, who became an alcoholic after the death of his son.
Gameplay
Unlike many games, Cicero offers very little combat. Instead the player in engaged in battles of the mind, thrown in situations where the puzzles are more than just a game. Starting easy, the challenges become progressively more difficult and invite different elements where the player must think outside the box. In many situations there is more than one way to complete it, but one of them is much more arduous. There are two endings to the game. Which ending you receive is affected by your playing style.
