Looks amazing! Keep up the good work man.
Thank you both.
Here are the support bars, as promised. I've done 4 in total, one for each of the party members.
I've been working on that big city centre area and have some screenshots to share:
This area will have a couple of main quests and a few sidequests (one of which will be related to Lorelei and how she was imprisoned on the first place).
There will be another similar-looking big city area closer to late stages in the game.
I've also decided to extend Act 3 a bit since I've come up with another small part to add to it, so it'll be longer than initially planned (and more epic too!).
This time, no corpses on your screenshots.
Only blood splatters BD
Hehe, those are just dirt patches (or sick puddles).
I would be quite worried if there were random corpses in the city centre. XD
7.8/10 needs more corpses.
How else is the game suppose to be edgy?
Screenshots of new areas.
Military station in the city centre:
What happened in this hospital? Hmm...
Also a small announcement.
Since Act 3 is pretty big and the next act after is significantly smaller, I've decided that the next update that I'll be sending to my testers will be before the end of act 3. So there'll still be a chunk of act 3 missing in the next update, but this will make it so that there isn't an overwhelming amount of new content to test in the next update (and too little in the one after). Keeps it more even this way.
So now having said that, there's still a fair bit more left to do before the next update is ready, but I am hoping sometime early to mid stages of next month I'll be sending it out.
PS: Sorry, no corpses in these new screenshots.
Overall looking good, but the first screenshot in post #103 reminds me - this is future, so why are some women in long skirts? Or at least what looks like long skirts. It jars badly.
Although my version had some slight errors to it I am looking forward to the new test build. It's good to know in the future there is no need for fire hydrants, and bay windows are everywhere. Since information passes to quickly in this world to people, why is Holt walking in broad day light; wouldn't people know he is a criminal and call the police?
Thanks guys. Well, it's not strictly speaking future. It's more of a dystopian, dark, almost regressive sci-fi. Akin to the settings of Deus Ex (the original one), Equilibrium, and Dark City. So it's more or less a totalitarian modern day world with some sci-fi elements such as robots, energy weapons, and hi-tech security measures.
Oh, it was meant to be night time on those screenshots. Now I am wondering if I should darken the tint some more. Didn't want to make it look too dark. But most people wouldn't see his face clearly at night. Also the authorities normally try to keep the citizens in the dark of these things, since advertising escaped criminals and other serious issues could cause panic and chaos, and in turn people's doubts of how competent the government is. They try to keep the illusion of 'everything is under control' whilst having the police and the covert soldiers handle it.
Hmm, totalitarian modern still means it jars. But maybe there aren't the parts to make ordinary skirts?
Hmm. Well, I was kind of hoping to give the impression that woman is well off and kind of posh.
There were posh fancy dresses in Deus Ex: Human Revolution too. Like this: http://conceptartworld.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/Deus_Ex_Human_Evolution_03a.jpg
I don't find any problem in the attire of people living in an alternate/futuristic world.
Who knows what there should be and what shouldn't?
Deus Ex Human Revolution even reintroduced renaissance laces, after all.
This game looks absolutely great!
Everything is well done, screenshots are really good!
Keep it up, it sounds and looks interesting!
@ Cabfe: Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking too. Fashion trends of one time can easily return again at another time.
The next demo update is almost ready. I'm currently playtesting it and will be sending it out to my testers sometime this weekend (possibly even tomorrow). As I mentioned in the previous post, this next update won't have the entirety of Act 3, since it's a long act (with some parts that weren't initially planned). Thanks guys!
For now some screenshots of the next area:
Oh Good, just in time for the three day weekend. That is perfect timing. I'll be looking forward to getting up to speed.
Still no corpses? Come on!
By the way, in the second screenshot, the fire puzzle (I supposed it's one), maybe you could add something under the flames that don't have a grid underneath them? What is burning otherwise?
I suspect it's gas, but on a still image and out of context, it feels odd.
@ Cabfe: Yeah, it's flammable gas. Hence the valves which the player has to shut.
Been some time since the last update. I had to split my time between this project and making updates to Incitement 1 and 2. But anyways, here are some screenshots of the next level, the lab complex:
Some of the lab staff is trained in combat and will fight back, so beware!
Don't get on Lorelei's bad side. She'll put a bullet in your head.
